Here are some more information for Amp Power:

Besides the Beatles, and the British rock invasion, we can certainly be grateful to the British for one other thing; the full stack amplifier. Sure, Fender put a separate head on top of a speaker cabinet in 1960, but it wasn't really until the British amp builders started building stacks that they really took off. Sure, there were many manufacturers: Vox, HiWatt and Laney. But the hands-down archetype for the full stack undoubtedly was, and still is today-the 100-watt Marshall Super Lead "Plexi" Head on a double stack of cabs-each with four Celestion Greenback 12-inch speakers. This was the amp that defined the full stack amplifier for all time.
Look at nearly any picture of Jimi Hendrix on stage. What's behind him? A wall of classic Marshall stacks, each with the classic 100-watt Marshall "Plexi" perched on top. Just imagine how that must have sounded live. With his radical music (and his outrageous onstage showmanship) Jimi made the Statocaster/Marshall stack combination famous.
Before the advent of today's monster PA systems, rock guitarists used stack amps to power their big gigs. And the classic Marshall "wall of sound" remains an icon in rock today. Look at old photos of Led Zeppelin, AC/DC or The Who. You will see long rows of full stack amplifiers butted up against each other. At 100-watts per stack, four stacks together not only produced 400-watts of raw rock and roll power, they also made a stunning and imposing visual backdrop. The best photos from that era are pictures of rock legends like Page, Beck, Clapton, and Townsend photographed in action against that iconic imposing wall of full stacks in the background like a massive black hole looming in the background.
Years ago, I read an article that claimed that The Who was responsible for the stack amp concept. Supposedly, as one of the original "really loud" bands, they were perpetually on a Tim Allen-like quest for more power. Allegedly, John Entwistle, the bassist connected his amp to two side-by-side cabinets to generate more sound. At the same time, Pete Townsend, put his cab up on a stand in order to achieve better sound project projection. Then later, in one of those Reese's "Hey, you got peanut butter on my chocolate" type moments, Pete combined the two ideas and hooked up two cabs to get more sound and put one on top of the other to project that sound-and the stack was born. The best of both worlds.
Sure, today's combo amps are great. With all the built in effects and amp-modeling features, they generate fantastic rich sounds from compact cabs with only two 10's or two 12's. And, they're reasonably priced. But still, there is nothing like hooking up to a Marshall or Mesa stack and feeling those deep rumbling tones cranking out of the stacked cabinets. Admittedly, for the average musician and for the average band playing club gigs, the full stack is overkill. It is definitely more of a luxury than a necessity. But what an awesome luxury.

can i connect a 10 amp power point to 20 amp wire?
i had a space heater on my wall which i took off and was going to place a power point there, not realising that the wire that was connected to the space heater was 20 amp, i need to know if its fine to connect a 10 amp power point or if i need a 20 amp power point and can you plug ordinary items into a 20 amp power point?
If you mean a receptecle rated for 10 Amps yes you can. And yes you can use a 20 Amp recepticle In the case of the 10 Amp yoou just need to be sure not to exceed a 10 Amp draw. The concern would be that if you have a twenty Amp breaker and you overload the outlet it will allow the outlet to overheat without tripping. The heavier wire is just added safety from the wireing overheating. You really should use the 20 Amp outlet though.
