i would like to connect laptop to my pc via router using ethernet cable. i guess there are a lot of settings?
and configurations to change. is it a difficult job for someone with limited experience.can anyone help?

If its a new router you have just purchased and haven't used it yet there shouldn't be that many settings.
Routers released from 2008 onwards will have a high chance of having a 'Plug In And Surf' Function meaning that you can just plug it in and you don't need no disc or anything to set it up all it needs is to be on and automatically your laptop/desktop and anything else should recognise this wired connection.Therefore needs to be transferred so there won't be any settings.
If its a router you using now for example then there is nothing to do apart from plugging in your ethernet cable.
