Batman Begins discards the previous four films in the series and recasts the Caped Crusader as a fearsome avenging angel. That's good news, because the series, which had gotten off to a rousing start under Tim Burton, had gradually dissolved into self-parody by 1997's Batman & Robin... |
Here are some more information for Card Usb:

Afraid of opening up your computer? It's OK, a lot of us are. The USB to DVI external video card lets you add one or more monitors to your computer without ever cracking open the case. Connect the device to a USB port and you can quickly be running up to more displays from your computer.
The USB External Video card is not only different from standard methods to add displays in that it's an external solution, it also lets you add multiple displays via USB. That means you don't have to install multiple cards as you want more displays. The USB to DVI gives you up to 6 displays, all from USB ports. The big advantage there is for people who have limited space in a case or for people who use notebook PCs. Right now, there simply isn't a way to add multiple monitors beyond the built-in port in your laptop. With the external video card, you can actually add up to 6, depending on how many USB ports you have (and available monitors, of course...).
To be fair, the technology is a little different than how standard video cards work. It does not carry the same hardware as a video card, which is why it can run on USB throughput and power without making all the heat a standard video card produces. The magic comes from some new technology from DisplayLink. Coupled with included software, the USB to DVI display card uses your system's resources to drive the display. Don't be misled, though. The performance is actually quite impressive, and without posing much of a drain on your system.
The downside to the external card is that you cannot run certain applications. Presently, they do not support the DirectX 9+ protocol, which rules out lots of intense 3d games and so forth. That being said, 95% of all your standard applications (including full-screen video, emails, YouTube, spreadsheets, web browsing, etc.) will work just fine.
You can find out more about the USB to DVI external video card, as well as see a video of how it works at addamonitor.com [http://addamonitor.com]. You can buy the usb to DVI from Sewell Direct.
Express Cards – What are they & why are there two sizes (34mm & 54mm)
If you’ve purchased a new laptop PC lately you’ll probably have noticed a new looking slot on the side of it. This is the Express card slot.
ExpressCard technology has been designed to deliver high-performance (they support faster data transfer with lower power consumption) and allow modular expansion to your laptop. If for example you’ve purchased a laptop without a Firewire port but you then find you need Firewire to transfer video from your Camcorder you can add Firewire capabilities with a Firewire Express card.
There are two standard formats of ExpressCard modules:
- 34mm ExpressCards (size:34mm x 75mm)
- 54mm ExpressCards (size: 54mm x 75mm)
Both sizes are 5mm thick, the same as the PCMCIA cards they replace. Both sizes of card use the same connector interface – so the “business end” which actually connects internally inside the laptop is 34mm wide whichever size express card your laptop supports. This is possible because the larger 54mm Express cards are manufactured in an “L” shape with what looks like the corner cut out to enable the interface end to connect internally.
Why two different sizes? Well, it’s to give the system manufacturers greater flexibility than in the past. While 34mm Express Cards are better suited to smaller systems, the slightly wider 54mm Express Cards can support applications that would not physically fit into the a narrower 34mm Express Card. Examples include Compact Flash readers, and 1.8-inch disk drives both of which are wider than 34mm.
Additionally the 54mm Express cards give a little more room for on-board components which in turn reduces the amount of heat generated – sounds incredible but the slight larger card does allow for the heat to be dissipated more efficiently which can be important for some high performance applications
After a slow start there are now lots of Express Cards on the market to allow you to upgrade your Laptop and these include:
- eSATA Express Cards
- Firewire 400 Express Cards
- Firwire 800 Express Cards
- USB 2.0 Express Cards
- Solid Storage Express Cards (up to 32GB of storage)
- Serial Port Express Card
- Parallel Port Express Cards
- CF Card Readers
USBNow carry a wide range of express cards and are always happy to offer any advice and guidance if you have a particular requirement.

How can i setup a Wifi Network with one laptop, one USB Wifi card and a Wifi Router?
Heres the deal, i need to feed internet to 3 or 4 laptops, and i only have my laptop with a USB Wifi card from my cell phone operator card, and a wireless router. laptop connects to internet straight from usb card but i need to send it wireless.
Is it possible? how?
Hi,
Linksys makes a wireless router that will accept laptop Cell Phone broadband data PCcards. Here is an example: http://www.ubergizmo.com/15/archives/2006/04/sprint_offers_broadband_evdo_sharing_via_linksys_router.html
This example only accepts a PCCard. Can you swap for one of those instead from your cell phone carrier? Then you can connect all your Desktops and Laptops through the Wireless router. This would be a clean solution.
Another look at this. They are a tad bit expensive, but you could probably pick one up from ebay or craigslist.

So if you don't want to go that route, yes, you can setup one system and have all the others go through that system, but I think you will need to use cat-5. I have never done this using wireless, only wires. Use the network wizards to setup each system. I have tried this a long time ago, and it is slow and doesn't always work. Everything has to be just right, and the one main system has to be on pretty much all the time.
