Moving up to this unit you will see a pretty definitive improvement in its ability to detect K/Ka radar from the units discussed previously. The Cobra XRS 9955 radar detector will perform about as well as the Beltronics Pro GX65 which is almost twice the price. One negative aspect, this radar detector seems to have a higher than usual rate of screen failure.
The Cobra XRS-9960G and the Cobra XRS-R9G are new top of the line radar detectors from Cobra. The only real negative to either of these is a moderate level of false alarms. Both units are very easy to set up, easy to use, have pleasant audio tones, are very sensitive, have neat features and extras. Both units come with AURA and red light detection capabilities; they will even point towards the camera for ease of viewing. GPS with a database of speed trap locations are programmed in as well. The screens are very easy to read and recognize combined with the unit's quick warnings and long distance detection capabilities, I would recommend both units as top of the line.
