For the basic system get a receiver that is DTS ONBOARD not the "DTS Ready" garbage. DTS Ready means you will have to purchase an outboard DTS decoder, or a dvd player that has one built in. Which component speakers should I get with 2 12" Kicker L7 subs in a sealed box?
My car is a 98 Honda Accord and the sizes are 6- 6 1/2 for the front door speakers and the Rear deck is 6x9. I want clear and clean sound, doesn't have to be the loudest. Also is there a component set that comes with 6 speakers. I want to buy a set that comes with the tweeters for the dash, front door speakers and the rear deck speakers, but I can't seem to find a component set like this. The amp I got is the Kicker zx1500, and I'm gonna run the subs at 750 watts per sub which is their RMS rating. I want a component set that sounds really nice. I would like to keep the price under $300 if possible, cause I understand I still need to get a mutli-channel amp to power these speakers. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Any suggestion for a set over $300 is fine too.
its going to be somewhat hard to find good component speakers and 6x9's for under $300. you'd be better off finding good 2 way speakers front and back. if you go to your local circuit city, i was looking at polk speakers that were buy one set and get second set half off. it's better you figure out which speakers you like sound wise and then find the best price for them. Believe me it's a lot easier that way. i am partial to polk's myself because they are not tinny bright speakers like you find most places. There's a difference between clear and high as mariah carey being kicked in the no-no spot during one her high notes.
