Mini Cooper S VS JCW Cooper, does a chip give it the added power?
I am considering buyin a JCW Mini Cooper or Cooper S, wondering if I get all of the handling upgrades on an S can I just get a chip upgrade to get the added horsepower or is the engine actually the difference?
You didn't say what year.
But it's a lot more then just a chip. Up to 2006, the JCW's had an upgraded supercharger, smaller pulley, larger diameter injectors, tuned exhaust, etc. For 2007 and later, it's the same thing, but an better tuned turbocharger.
The chip is actually a small part of the overall package.
