Outstanding warrants have been public information for a few years now. Unfortunately, the system isn't one hundred percent foolproof in that if you want to perform the search correctly, you have to put in quite a bit of effort to find and secure the information you need. If you know exactly where the person (possibly yourself) has the warrant outstanding, you can simply ask that locality's courthouse if the warrant exists. However, there are a few problems with that.
The first one is simple: if you are the one who might have the warrant out for your arrest, the last thing you want to do is walk into a courthouse and ask if you have a warrant outstanding.
