Escort 9500. I used to be a part of radar detector forum, everyone would laugh at Cobras. Really, there is no contest.
However, before you buy a radar, I'd caution you to do your homework. I hope you understand that it will not help you as much as you think it will.
And if you are going to get a detector, get one of the best. Usually a Bel RX65 (300ish), Escort 8500 X50 (what I use also $300), Valentine V1 (a bit more, some swear by it, but at this point, I don't see the value), a Bel STI (again, more expensive but radar detector detectors wont pick it up (only one that has this feature), and the 9500 you mentioned (around 450-500 last I checked, some issues with the GPS lockout feature).
Remember, having a radar does not entitle you to speed, and it doesn't guarantee that you will be ticket free. Use your eyes first and keep the radar as a backup. A good cop can get your speed and pull you over in a variety of ways.
Nevertheless, good luck choosing the detector that will be right for you, read up on some information, and drive safely.
