Here is a Yamaha Motif ES Review for you. Today is a time of change, however. Space is now a commodity that people prefer to work with technology that simplified the process. After all, it is definitely more convenient to carry around one heavy instrument than a gaggle of heavy instruments. Now, a rapper may use an electronic keyboard to create a beat that they can place their rhymes into. At the same time a classical composer can combine tracks from different instruments to create a one man orchestra. This can now be achieved through one digital keyboard. Then, here comes the Yamaha Motif ES synthesizer.

It is one of the most versatile keyboards in the world. It can be good as a stand alone workstation but it works even better in conjunction with a PC or other instrument.

One of the best things about the Motif is the wide selection of sounds that you can play. There are more than 1800 voices to choose from in its 175MB Wave ROM. What really sets the Motif ES apart from all the other synthesizers out there, are the Arpeggios. The Arpeggios sound like the real thing because they are from the real thing. Yamaha took their time and recorded real.

The sound collection and effects in the Yamaha Motif ES workstation are probably one of the best in their class. But, the thing that stands out about the Yamaha Motif ES is its ability to interface with almost anything. It has SCSI ports, USB ports, Smart Media Ports and Audio I/O ports among many others.

The Yamaha Motif ES review suggests it is best used as an audio synthesizer. You can do it through the computer after you connected it through the ports. You can also use the 16 tracks to create layers upon layers of awesome music. With this one of a kind machine, you can record music like a pro.

The main features of Yamaha Motif ES workstation includes: 175 MB of High Quality, Digitally Sampled AWM2 Tone Generator, 16 Track Sequencer, Large LCD Display Screen, 128 Note Polyphony, Physical Modeling, Virtual Analogue Synthesis, Massive DSP Effects Engine, USB Mass Storage Support, Mega Voice Technology.

Overall, the Yamaha Motif ES is an excellent workstation that can help anyone willing to go through the pain of understanding a very confusing manual. Once you do go through the manual and you are now able to play the Motif ES, you should be able to enjoy the wonderful voices, the excellent music styles and versatile and powerful effects.

So that you can enjoy your playing experience, you can also record and synth your music. The Motif ES can be connected via a wide array of ports but the board itself is powerful enough as a stand alone workstation. At the right price, if you read the review, the Yamaha Motif ES looks like a must have for a true artist.

RME ADI 642

The RME ADI 642 is an 8-channer best format converter from MADI to AES and from AES to MADI. It is the hottest addition to RME’s successful MADI series. Between other applications, the unit has the capacity to serve as perfect AES/EBU frontend for the Hammerfall DSP MADI PCI card. Up to 192 kHz at 24 bit are supported. The most outstanding feature is that it is easy-to-use 72x72 routing matrix that could be assigned to an individual input channel to every single output channel, it allows free configuration of all 64 MADI channels and the 8 AED channels. RME ADI 642 Additional features comprise of: • Native support for AES Double and as well for Quad Wire.

• Native support for MADI Double and as well for Quad Wire.

• Direct conversion among these formats.

• Automatic Delay Compensation when used more than one unit.

• Analog stereo monitor output comes up to 192 kHz.

• Detailed status shown for MADI and AES.

• Completely remote controllable using MIDI.

• Transfer of MIDI data using MADI.

• SteadyClock for greatest jitter reduction and clock regeneration. Features It has a fully automatic input selection among optical and coaxial input provides a useful redundancy mode for vital applications. The extensive status displays the information about Lock and Sync states, audio content, and as well the physical quality of the incoming signal.Further RME ADI 642 is also compatible to all types of raising the sample rate. It supplies word clock in Single, Double und Quad Speed, supplies Double Wire 96kHz signals in to the MADI data stream and to the AES ports, and best in sustaining the double MADI sample rate (96k frame). The same goes to 192 kHz (Quad Wire, 192 kHz frame). The SyncAlign(r) and SyncCheck(r) technologies known from other RME products makes sure it is perfect synchronization and clear detection of errors. Also multiple units could be heaped and functioning sample-aligned, using word clock. All the settings were stored when the unit was switched off.Additionally REM ADI 642 features a user-friendly 72x72 Matrix Router. An input signal could be assigned to all available output channels, both for AES and MADI. This just not allow free signal routing in format conversion, but as well forwarding and routing of signals within the same existing format. An input signal could be further it be distributed to any number of outputs. With more than one ADI-642, many MADI signals could be shared to one MADI stream.16 MIDI channels could be transferred across wide MADI (even with 64 audio channels). The device could also be fully remote controlled and best configured using MIDI, and all status shows could be queried through MIDI. Each RMI ADI 642 could be given a different ID, allowing different remote controllability of various devices with only one MIDI channel.

What's my best option for a sound system ?

Hi everyone !

Last year I bought a Sony lbt Zx6 and I got a little disapointed with it.
It's a really powerful stereo but I doesn't have all the features that I was expecting it to have( ugly display, only 3 band EQ and only one DSP mode).

I am planning on getting something else and would like to hear your ideas and suggestions.I have done some research and I've been thinking about these items. This system would be primarily to listenign to music, being more specific Heavy Metal !

Acoustech HT-75 ( Speakers)
ONKYO TX8522 Stereo Receiver 100W x 2ch or Harman Kardon HK3480 Stereo Receiver ?
Denon DCD 820 (Cd Player)
Yamaha EQ 70 ( Equalizer)

Should I buy just a HTIB instead ?

Onkyo HT-SR800

Which system is more suitable for music ?

Thanks for your help and sorry for the long question.

I actually have the HT-75's, I really do enjoy them. They are primarily used for my home theater style setup. I do use them for music occasionally. With the HT-65 center and my own hand crafted subwoofer (not bragging just proud of myself:), music does sound great in pro-logic mode or stereo for that matter. I have an Onkyo TX-SR503 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver? if my memory serves me that I pulled out of an Onkyo HT-S780 HTiB.

Obviously you have named some great brands and shouldn't go wrong with any of them. The only downfall that I saw when I bought the HT-S780 is that it was a pretty decent receiver but the speakers were definitely lacking (i took a few of them apart and all in all they are pretty cheaply made - good receivers, not so much on their speakers) It depends on how much you want to rock out, the Onkyo HTiB has pretty muddy bass and I definitely noticed this when I got the acoustechs. Dollar for dollar they are very well crafted, engineered and put together speakers. Good Luck.
