Are you someone who likes to be creative with your interior design projects? Well, something that you may have never considered using beyond the bathroom are shower curtain rods for your decorating ideas. You can use the same rods that keep your bathroom dry during a shower to create beautiful decorative poles all over the house.

Even though you can buy a rod for a couple of bucks, or maybe even a buck at the dollar store doesn't mean that they can't look like a million bucks when used creatively. How great is it that a college student with no cash can still create a fabulous look in the dorm on the cheap, as well as be able to impress his or her classmates.

If you're looking to hide a not-so-pretty wall or closet space in the bedroom, then look no further than the shower curtain rod as your savior. The best bet would likely be the pressure style rod, which you just twist out to the size you need and it will be easily held in place by the pressure. Just be careful with the weight of the drapery that you use with this style, as it usually doesn't hold a lot of weight. For example velvet would not work without a rod that screws into the wall.

In the bedroom there's another idea to consider beyond closets. How about a nice soft headboard or canopy over the bed? Simply suspend a couple of rods from the ceiling and hang across and down a nice sheer fabric with a simple little dip in the center. As for the headboard, you could, just let some fabric hang down at the head of the bed to cover the headboard.

If you have a pantry in the kitchen that you'd rather not be seen at all times then using a shower curtain rod and some kitchen type fabric will work wonders here. If you have the classic kitchen style café curtains then you can easily coordinate the materials as well.

Do you have a sunroom that's not properly vented and just gets too hot?

If you get a pressure type rod and at both ends of the overhead window slip through a fabric that's been stitched to have a pocket, you can then pull the fabric taught or leave it loose if you like, but either way you now have a fabric there that's going to dimmed the sunlight as it makes it way into your sunroom from the outside. Now the room's temperature can be much more easily controlled.

Bathroom remodeling doesn't have to be a boring old mundane project anymore. You can now purchase an "s" shaped rod that will give you old claw footed tub a way to have a shower head and spray nozzle. If you want to go even a little more out of the ordinary then using a suspended rod that hangs from the ceiling by chains is a great option for you. You can have some extra fun by using different materials for hanging the shower curtain itself, rather than the plain old store bought plastic rings that you usually see.

If you use your imagination and continue to be creative you can no doubt think of endless ideas for using shower curtains in your home.

Being very excited about bathroom remodeling, John C. Baker has been authoring various web pages on the topic. You might find out more about his publications on shower curtain rods over at http://www.curtains-drapes-coverings.com/shower-curtain-rods.html and various other sources for shower curtain rods tips.

Crazy From the Heat: Keeping Computers Cool

A computer’s components produce large amounts of heat during a PC’s normal operation. CPU’s, integrated circuits, graphics cards, hard drives and power supplies all generate heat through normal day-today working. This heat has to be dissipated to keep the computer’s components operating within their ideal operating temperature.

Overheating can have catastrophic effects on a computers lifespan. S computer that runs too hot will have a shorter maximum lifespan and be more susceptible to system failures. CPU’s can even permanently expire if they run too hot.

Excessive heat build-up can be caused by numerous factors (including the weather) and some computers struggle to remain cool due to their working environments. Computers having to run in warm areas or near to heat sources (like ovens and radiators) will often expire long before they ought to but there are several methods of keeping a computer running at an optimum temperature.

Heat sinks are the simplest method of supplying cooling to a computer’s internal parts. Heat sinking is merely attaching large pieces of metal, which is usually finned, to increase the surface area and dissipate heat

Fans are also very common. A fan will allow air to flow through a computer taking warm air away from the components and replacing it with cooler air. Positioning of these fans or adding extra ones can make massive differences to their effectiveness. It is also important that these fans are working correctly and free from dust.

Dust will heat a computer up in several; acting as an insulator, causing excessive heat, and also blocking filters and vents. Regular cleaning or protecting a computer from dust is an easy method of reducing running temperature.

Another method of keeping a computer cool is known as soft cooling which is essentially turning down a computers components and power saving functions to decrease power consumption and therefore heat generation.

Many hardcore computer gamers use liquid cooling which uses cold fluids in pipes to dispel heat. However, liquid cooling can be expensive and difficult to maintain and there is also the possibility of springing a leak causing permanent damage to a machine.

There is however another solution to computer cooling and one that is often missed by so-called computer experts when advising on keeping systems cool and that is the use of an industrial computer enclosures.

These enclosures cost as little as a few hundred Pounds/Dollars/Euros but have the advantage in sealing a computer in a dust free environment. They have several methods of extra cooling including extra fans, plenum chambers (vents that use differing pressures to suck air around a system) and heat sinking.

These enclosures have the advantage of other methods of cooling as they not only cool a computer but also keeps out dust and also protects from knocks and bangs. They are also suitable for computes that have to operate in really tough conditions making them a genuine and less expensive alternative to specialised sold state or industrial machines.

They are also useful for computer users who often find heat build-up a problem whether that is because of excessive dust, a heated environment (such as near a radiator) or even hot weather.

In a vented enclosure, which way should the subs and vents be facing?

Hello once again... after speaking with Crutchfield I've decided to try and build a vented enclosure for my subs. It will be a rectangular box, with slotted vents. I was just wondering which way the subs and vents should be facing? Towards the bumper or towards the seats? Should the vents and subs be facing the same way?

The vents should be on the same side of the box as the subs face to prevent out of phase cancellation. If you have a car with a trunk, you will get more bass if you point the subs to the rear of the car, but it is a matter of taste.
I would recommend trying them both ways for a week and decide what sounds better to you. Since you can't see soundwaves, you have to experiment sometimes.

Temperature, Humidity, and Dew Point Transmitter is wall mounted.
Featuring polycarbonate enclosure with vented design, wall mount Series RHP-W is available with integral LCD or remote display that can be ordered for building balancing or LEED validation. LCD indicates ambient temperature and either humidity or dew point, which are measured using capacitive polymer sensor that recovers from 100% saturation. Humidity and dew point can have current or voltage ...
