I honestly think these are very rare being there was a big law suite against GTE Sylvania years back so finding anything on a company that doesn't really exist any more other than there sister co. OSRAM SYLVANIA they suck<<< they couldn't or wouldn't help me what so ever.
How Ever I found these great speakers with blown foam rings in them and knew of a website were I could by new foam rings man was it not only a learning experience but it was fun to here my now new found speakers for the first time man they sound great boom boom their you go LMAO. So if anyone knows where and what I am gabbing about please let me know. Direct links get my vote for age, value, or manuals for these speakers that are GTE Sylvania AS225A. Thank you.
I have a pair of GTE Sylvania AS125 speakers which I purchased in 1976. I believe the AS225 was essentially the same speaker just a later model. GTE Sylvania only made component quality speakers and receivers for a few years during the 70's. My speakers are 28.5 h x 15.5 w x 12.75 d and handle 100 watts RMS per channel. Freq response is 20 -20000 with crossovers at 600 and 6000 hz. They are 3-ways with a 12 inch woofer, a 1.5 inch mid-range and a 1 inch tweeter. They are solid wood, walnut finish and came with a wooden base. The AS125 sold for around $250 a pair.
I worked for GTE Sylvania for 30 years and the current company Osram Sylvania. None of the current German owners of the company care about the old company. You might try Philips Electronics since the bought the GTE Sylvania Home Entertainment division.
