Diagnose Problems with Hot Water Boilers in NJ
Hot water boilers don’t make you fresh tea, but they do keep you warm during the winter. These boiler units are especially important parts of your household and should be taken care of constantly. Yet, even with tender care things can still go wrong with your boiler. Below are a few common issues you may come across while using hot water boilers for heat.
* No power- Even a gas powered hot water boiler may need electricity for thermostat control and other functions. Check your breakers and or fuses if your boiler has no power.
* Water to low- hot water boilers are designed to work with a specific amount of water, if that water gets too low you will have no heat. There should be a pressure relief valve that regulates the water input, however if not you may have to open the water feed valve until the pressure indicates 12psi.
* Pilot is out- Most boilers burn some type of gas and should the pilot light go out, no heat! Simply re light the pilot and you will be back in business.
* Thermostat is malfunctioning- First check that the thermostat is set to heat mode and on the appropriate temperature. You should then move the control up or down a few notches and see if that makes a difference. If none of the above works, you may want to call a technician familiar with your system.
Generally, hot water boilers are very reliable systems, especially with the technological advances of today. Older units were less reliable and could even be dangerous at times. If you have a water boiler made prior 1995, you should consider buying a new hot water boiler or hot water heater in NJ as soon as possible.

Blown Fuse Really Really Hot?
Hi there i was drying a load of clothes in my dryer today for about 30 min when the fuse blew! I use 30 amp fuses 2 of them for the dryer as when we bought this house those were the ones being used. When i removed the protective box covering the fuses i dropped it because it was so hot can anyone help me any advice is sufficient thanks alot.
I did check the fuses they are in a protective box that securel y fits into the breaker box!! its an old breaker box its written on and the wires running to it are exposed and they are red and black!!! It happened again when i repeated it the dryer manual says only 30amp fuses and i called maytag as well!!! Is this a fire hazard even if the dryer is not running?
The box should not be hot. If one of the fuses was loose, then it would cause a heat build up in the box. It could also be a loose wire connection. Make sure the fuses are and wire connections are tight and run the dryer. If the box gets warm shut off the dryer and have an electrician look at it.
Edit
If it is an old style box the the fuses are cartridge type and fit into holders. The holders may be loose and require replacement. I would have an electrician look at it. Sounds as if you need an electrical upgrade to a breaker panel.
If the dryer is not operating the fuses should remain cold and there is no fire hazard.
