Kenwood mono block amp's any good?
I've got 2 8" Polk Audio MM840 svc subs on the way right now. They are rated for 250 watts RMS at 4 ohms. Of course I would prefer to power them with a Polk amp because the rest of my system is all Polk but financially that just isn't going to happen. I have been offered a Kenwood KAC-8104D mono block amp for $90 from a friend. This particular amp is rated to push 500 watts RMS at 2 ohms. Therefore if I wire my subs in parallel I should be good to go right? I keep getting mixed reviews on the amp though.. some people say it will be great.. others say I shouldn't even look at a Kenwood. Anyone have any experience with them? Do Kenwood's put out the RMS power they they say they will?
yes get it!!!! thats a 150 dollar amp. i have the 9104d which is 1800 watt peak and 2 kfc w3012s and it hits hard like i had a friend in the car and he had a headache bad after i dropped him off but ya they r nice amps and never over heat. and ya they put out the rms.
