Breathing New Life Into My 5.0 With Afe Filters and Afe Intakes
No one’s a bigger Vanilla Ice Fan than me. I’ve got every album that this musical, lyrical god has ever released, starting with Hooked in 1989 and ending with his 2006 Best of compilation. When To the Extreme hit the scene, I almost lost my mind from excitement. Everywhere I turned, there was The Ice. On the radio. On TV. On the silver screen. I’m not ashamed to admit it, but I’ve watched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II every Saturday night since it was released on video. Much to the amazement of my friends and family, I even quit my job for a year to follow his North American tour. Those were some of the happiest days of my life. When the tour ended, I was stone broke and had to hitchhike my way back home to Pensacola. But I have no regrets.
After I returned from my Vanilla pilgrimage, I got a job at a local record shop. I tried applying for more lucrative positions, but Spinner’s Vinyl was the only place in town that would hire me with all those lines shaved into the side of my head. I didn’t mind, though. It gave me the perfect opportunity to introduce everyone to Vanilla’s B-sides and the bootlegs that I recorded at a few of his shows. You should have seen the looks on people’s faces when they walked in and heard my acoustic version of Roll ‘Em Up blasting through the overhead. What are the technical specifications of an 2002 Ford Focus factory audio system? What kind of input does it have on the back, can I install an adapter for a auxiliary input (headphone jack)?
A 2002 Ford Focus stereo is as basic as you can get. You can't install an adapter for an input. It doesn't have the capability. The only way to input sound into, other than standard radio or cds, is with a fm modulator. Your best option would honestly be to just buy an aftermarket radio with the aux input built into it. I say this because I myself had a 2000 Ford Focus which I recently got rid of (minus the equipment). I installed a complete custom stereo system including: Eclipse (head unit), Polk Audio 6.5 component speakers (front & rear) in custom door panels, three 12 inch Kicker CompVR subs, Kicker 1000.1 amp, Kicker 350.4 amp, all in a custom trunk enclosure setup, Tsunami wiring front to back including three 1.2 Farad Caps, a Deka Intimidator battery and H/O alternator. Trust me, the factory setup in the Focus is junk. From the stereo to the speakers. Replace it all, one at a time if you have to, but the end result will be much worth it.
