Kenwood tested out the double DIN in-dash navigation market with the DNX7100 in early 2007. Upon discovering its success, Kenwood continued its pursuit for supremacy in the car audio industry with the introduction of three 2008 DNX Series in-dash navigation: the DNX5120, DNX7120, and DNX8120.
All three of these units feature a built-in Garmin GPS navigation system with over 6 million points of interest for maps of the United States (including Hawaii), Canada, and even Puerto Rico. In addition, the DNX units could give users voice guidance of street names and upcoming turns. The in dash head unit could also receive XM live traffic as well as weather information and display them on the screen
The DNX Series receivers features either a 6.1" touchscreen LCD monitor on the DNX5120 or on a 6.95" touchscreen LCD monitor on both the DNX7120 and the DNX 8120. We were eager to try out. They look quite cool and the DIVX looked sharp and worked Ok as did jpeg photos, which were the only things that we have tired out so far. Company help and contacted us when we needed any extra information.

The product was as expected and is working fine, the kids are going to love it. I've yet to try out the SD/USB feature as I am unclear as to how this works.
The instructions are clear enough to follow but my only criticism is that the operation manual is lacking in detail, but most of the features are self explanatory.
Overall great value for the money.

Anyone here install their own car DVD?
I built my own arcade last year, so I am pretty comfortable working with electronics. I have been thinking about installing a rear DVD overhead unit into my 01 Tribute for the kids. I would have rather done a headrest installation but my front seats don't have any - integrated. I figure that I could tap into the domelight wiring and fead it through an FM modulator - also use wireless headphones.
Anyone have any experience in this. The car doesn't have side airbags which I know can be problem.
if you cant find headrest monitors for your vehicle its really easy to install an overhead unit ive installed a few and there isnt much to it just be careful mounting it my dumbass friend put a little bump in his roof puttin in to long of screws id rather put a dvd playing head unit in and running the video up to the screens but if you buy an all inclusive over head unit youll have to run a fm modulater to your antenna again not hard
