My car doesn't have an ISO connector as standard, is this going to be a problem?
Your new car radio will not always connect directly to your car's standard wiring harness connector. You will need to use a harness adaptor in-between your car's wiring and your new radio's female ISO connector.
The harness adaptor will simply convert your car's wiring into an ISO male that will then enable you to seamlessly connect this by push-fit into the ISO female found on your new car radio's harness. The wiring harnesses will provide the power and the speaker connections to connect to your new radio.
Why will my aerial lead not connect to my new radio?
You may require an aerial adaptor, as some cars such as Vauxhall models use a female socket instead of the conventional male plug. The adaptor simply pushes into your car's female socket and the result is a male plug that fits your new radio. One is included with all new radios.
Some others models need an aerial adaptor because they use an amplified aerial. Basically, the radio feeds the aerial amplifier that is built into the base of the aerial via this adaptor. If you fail to use this adaptor, a poor radio reception could result.
My car has a Steering Wheel Remote Control, can I still use this?
If your car has a factory-fitted steering wheel mounted remote control and you want to use this to control your new radio you will need to fit a steering remote adaptor to keep that capability.
Steering remote adaptors are available to work with many car makes and models in conjunction with Alpine, JVC, Kenwood, Panasonic and Sony radios that have the ability to connect to a stalk control lead. You will have to check with each specific model for compatibility.

Sirius Satellite Radio
If I am asked what the best present is that my husband ever gave me, I have absolutely no trouble answering the question. In November 2004, he surprised me with my very own Kenwood plug and play set complete with subscription to a year's service with Sirius Satellite Radio. Since that time, there have only been two periods of time that I haven't surrounded myself with beautiful sounds straight from the satellite. In 2005, I gave it up for Lent for 40 days because it was truly a sacrifice for me. The other experience that I've had with no Sirius was when I loaned my car to my daughters for their vacation, and I reluctantly allowed my radio to go with them.
After my husband realized how much I enjoyed my satellite radio, he bought speakers and installed them in my bathroom and kitchen and even on our back deck. For relaxation or inspiration when I work on my computer, I always listen online to Moving Easy, Standard Time, or Sirius Pops. Although they transmit well over 100 stations, I find myself tuning to about eight presets exclusively because I just cannot pull myself away from them. I simply never tire from listening to my radio.
When I think about what I like most about Sirius, one feature that especially impresses me is the commercial free airwaves. Because I don't have to waste my time listening to companies promoting their goods, my enjoyment is not interrupted. Another great characteristic of this invention is the clarity of sound. I don't have to deal with static and loss of service at certain times of the day. Perhaps one of its strongest selling points is the fact that wherever I go, Sirius goes with me. If I drive coast to coast, I can listen to the same station without changing the dials one time. On the other hand, if I need information about driving conditions or weather, Sirius provides stations with the data I desire for my location.
Sirius presents such a variety that there is something for every audience. Their offerings include music genres such as pop, rock, hip-hop, country, classical, Christian, jazz, blues, standards, and even a welcomed all Elvis station. Additionally, fans can find NFL, Howard Stern, talk radio, CNN, FOX, NPR, and Martha Stewart among several others. Coming soon Sirius will also proudly broadcast NASCAR for its loyal followers. For those who want to sample it, there is free trial period offered on their website.
I think it is easy for others to understand why I have developed an obsession for my friend on the air. I can adjust my environment according to my moods, and I do not know how anything can get any better than that.

Can you plug an iPod directly into a USB port on a car stereo receiver?
I am having a Kenwood DPX-701 installed next week that has a front USB port. My iPod came with a USB to dock connector cable for use with the computer, but I don't know if this will work with the car stereo. Kenwood has an iPod interface, but I am not interested in controlling the iPod through the head unit, I just want it to play through the speakers. Any and all help would be appreciated!!
I have a JVC with a front USB port and I used the cable that came with the ipod and it would play most of the songs on the ipod, but not all of them. Not really sure why, but oh well. Also, I had to control it through the head unit. I eventually got the actual ipod adaptor since the stereo was ipod ready. It was a pain at first to control it through the head unit, but I love it now that I'm used to it.
