Inserting the fuse back into the holder should be done only when all steps are completed that is only when all the wiring connections and attachments are made perfectly. Does anybody know the differnce between an 8Gauge & a 4Gauge amplifier kit?
My Amplifier is 1600W Peak & 800 Total RMS.. and the SUB it will be powering is 1200W Max, & 600W Total RMS.
ok the first two guys are completely wrong. there really is no difference between 8 gauge and 4 gauge. 4 gauge is a much thicker cable and will give u less of a chance of overloading your electrical system and blowing out the amp, the fuse on the amp kit, and/or something in the electrical system of the car. im lookin at the specs of your amp vs. your sub and i see a definate mismatch which will make it seem as if your going to blow your sub up. NEVER overpower a subwoofer, you can always underpower it. your amplifier will be sending over 200 more watts than the sub can handle rms wise and 400 peak wise. stay with the 4 gauge and the electricals of your car will be fine. my advice to you, is either buy a more powerful sub or a less powerful amp to save you from the trouble of blowing the sub out. hope this helped you out bro
