The Daewoo automobile manufacturer lived from 1967 up until it was dismantled by the Korean government come 1999. The name Daewoo is a Korean word that means "Great House". This company was founded by Kim Woo Choong, and also, this company became one of the Big Four conglomerates in South Korean. HELP!! Question about car...?
Im stupid w/ cars. Someone is selling a 2000 Daewoo Leganza for 1400 bucks. Yes, I know that Daewoos have a bad reputation with breaking down alot & now being hard to find parts. But this guy just replaced the transmission, engine & timing belt just last year. Since GM now owns Daewoo (GM Daewoo), wouldn't the engine, transmission & timing belt be GM parts & not the cheap crappy Daewoo parts that broke down easily? If so, wouldn't it be a GREAT deal for only 1,400 w/ a new tranny, engine & timing belt that's made by GM? Anyone know?
Im really just looking for a car to get us by this year until we get back on our feet to get a better car next year. So if it breaks down in a year, thats fine.

Let me explain, this is car is as shitty as it can get, it doesn't matter what parts are in it. It's not very reliable if you are looking to keep it for a long time. 1400 is a fair value for this car yeah. Not such a good car in my opinion. I've worked for an auction dealer and we had very few of them, after couple of weeks they don't even start up on a fresh battery. Real piece of garbage
