For 2010, the front wheel drive Lexus ES 350 sedan is slightly restyled in the exterior and interior. The engine in the 2010 ES 350 is carried over from its predecessor. The 3.5 liter V6 dual overhead cam (DOHC) engine has a 94 mm bore, an 83 mm stroke, and a 10.8 compression ratio. The block and head of this engine are all aluminum. Four cams and four valves per cylinder, Lexus' dual variable valve timing (DVVT) and camshaft, and a multi point fuel injection system power the ES 350 with 272 maximum horsepower at 6,200 rpm. The impressive maximum torque, 254 foot pounds, is delivered at 4,700 rpm. Fast acceleration and lower emissions are also results of the DVVT system. The power of this engine is velvety smooth according to car reviewer Edmunds.com. This ride is accomplished not only by the purring V6 engine, but also by the installation of 88 vibration reducing measures.
This 3.5 liter engine uses the six speed automatic transmission to propel the Lexus ES 350 from 0 mph to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds, a figure that is about average for its vehicle class. The fuel economy rating of the 3.5 liter engine is 19 mpg city and 27 mpg highway. The composite fuel efficiency rating is 22 mpg. The engine's power is increased with the use of a dual exhaust system.
Although many experts point to the ES350's lack of excitement in appearance, the excitement under the hood helps make this car worthy of the Lexus name and one of the best values in its segment.

Chicago Lexus Gs Hybrid May Be Joined By A New Compact Hybrid
In a time of economic crisis, the luxury automotive market is doing everything it can to stay competitive. In order to do that, many of the world's leading luxury lines of vehicles are adopting stronger technologies in order to reduce fuel consumption and emissions in the driving experience. We had a few hints that we'd be seeing some sort of new model from the popular luxury brand when we found out that Lexus had trademarked the names CT 200h, CT 300h and CT 400h, and now we are very close to actually seeing one of those cars in action. Is Premium Fuel really needed in a new Lexus? Putting standard 87 octane cannot hurt it that much, right?
Manual states premium only and if not prem the engine will start knocking. I can't imagine it matters that much, especially if I follow all the other reccomended mait...
