How to power a stereo receiver and 2 DJ speakers at the beach using a car/marine battery?
I saw a guy at the beach playing a loud stereo system. He had the receiver/amp hooked up to a small little black box, which was then some how connected to a battery. So, I am wanting to know what type battery you need to power a 600 watt amp that will be playing music through 2 DJ speakers. Also, what was the little black box that the battery was connected to, and which was then connected to the amp? Thanks for any input. I'm wanting to be able to take a nice sounding stereo system to the beach and supply good music for several hours.
1. aquire a charged 12 volt car battery
2. aquire a stereo radio head receiver
3. aquire a speaker amplifier with subwoofer outputs
4. aquire a quality set of jumper cables
Take the jumper cables and cut them to suitable lengths...
Build suitable carry cases for all the componets...
Rig the car battery positive side with the red cut up jumper cable wire to the positive side of the radio and amplifier...
Rig the negative side of the car battery with the cut up black jumper cable wire to the negative side of the radio and amplifier...
Wire the speakers and subwoofers up using suitable speaker wires...

REMEMBER; in your portable beach equation you will not have the car body to ground to.. all grounding is off of the negative side of the car battery.
