Here are some more information for Mazda Mercury:
The Ford Mondeo sedan was for the European market. Travel to the lands of the United States and North American and you would find the Ford Contour. The Ford Contour would be the Ford Mondeo's American counterpart. This sedan was actually sold by the Ford Motor Company starting from 1995 up until 2000. Fact is, this vehicle actually was the basis for building a version of this under the Mercury brand. And the result came to be the Mercury Mystique and later on became the Mercury Cougar. The Ford Contour was found in the Ford Motor Company's line up filling the niche between the Ford Escort and the Ford Taurus.
The Ford Contour has a DOHC V6 engine with 24 valves. It has an aluminum block and aluminum heads. This has a displacement of 155 cubic inches. It can produce some 170 units of bhp at 6250 rpm, and 165 pound feet at 4250 rpm. It has also been equipped with a five speed manual transmission system. The wheelbase of the Ford Contour measures 106.5 inches, 183.9 inches in length and has a curb weight of 2910 pounds.
From 1995 to 1996, the Ford Contour came to be body colored. The front seats were recessed to the back so as to improve rear seat leg room. This is compared to the first wave of Ford Contours that entered the American automobile market. After a year, changes were still done. Traction control no longer was given as an option. The remote fuel door release feature was deleted and the fuel door that this batch held had a flanged opening. Made available were an interior trunk light, a tilt steering wheel, and a power antenna. In 1997 to 1998, the Ford Contours that entered the streets sported front and rear end designs that were new. There were new alloy wheel designs. The sail panels on the rear door windows were now smooth and held the word "Contour" emblazoned on it.
As per the last years of the Ford Contour, it still continually received changes. In 1998 to 1999, the Ford Contour deleted one of its trim levels. There was a clock in radio available. There were also some color revisions. The rear window and the brake light designs had changed. For Canada, this was the last year of the Ford Contour. In the United States, 2000 was the last year for the vehicle.

A Look At The Mercury Monterey And Mountaineer Engine
If you're into family vans and mid-size SUVs, you'll want to take a look at the engines of the Mercury Monterey and the Mountaineer and what makes them a hit with satisfied owners.
The Monterey minivan was launched in 2004 to replace the Mercury Villager, derived from the Ford Freestar with added features. It held its own as a versatile family van with good safety and luxury features.
The Mercury Monterey engine is a 4.2-liter V6 Essex, putting out 201 horses and 252 lb·ft (342 N·m) of torque with a 96.5 mm bore, 95 mm stroke and 9.3 compression ratio. This engine is standard equipment on all models marketed in Mexico and Canada.
Ford stopped producing the 4.2-liter V6 after 2008, drawing the curtains on the engine, but not before it had proven its worth as replacement in the 1997 model year for the Ford 300 straight six (used by the F-150), which was beginning to show its age.
The Mercury Monterey engine sports a sturdy cylinder head design that addressed the problem of cracked heads. It also has hydraulic roller lifters that required lower maintenance than previous designs that were prone to oil contamination and tended to require early replacement.
This pushrod OHV was produced until 2000 and was used in the Ford Explorer, Ford Aerostar, Mazda B4000 and Ford Ranger, as well, making it a worthy workhorse for many and not just a Mercury Monterey engine.
The Mountaineer, a good choice offering generous space for families who go for occasional off-road driving, has two engine choices: The Cologne, a 210-horsepower 4.0-liter V6 and the Modular, a 292-hp 4.6-liter V8.
The standard Mercury Mountaineer engine is a V6 that packs 254 lb-ft of torque with a hefty towing capacity of 5,305 lbs, while the 3-valve SOHC V8 delivers 315 lb-ft to two up to 7,040 lbs.
The Modular has an interesting history. It belongs to Ford Motor Company's overhead camshaft (OHC) V8 and V10 gasoline engine family, which gradually replaced the Windsor small-block and 385 big-block engines over several years in the mid-1990s.
This Mercury Mountaineer engine was initially produced in the company's plant in Romeo, Michigan, and then additional capacity was ramped up by the plant situated in Windsor, Ontario.
There is an interesting sidelight to the Mercury Mountaineer engine. Contrary to initial belief, the Modular's name was not derived from the way it was designed or shares parts with other members of the engine family, but it was named that way in honor of a manufacturing plant protocol, where the facility's layout and tooling infrastructure could be switched out in a jiffy to turn out differing versions of the engine's family.
If you are in the market for a Mercury Monterey engine, you should deal with a shop or supplier who is accredited with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). This is because BBB certification indicates that you will be getting your engine from a business outfit that follows ethical standards for customer service and satisfaction.

I am looking for a 1986-1988 3dr Mazda 323 or Mercury Tracer Automatic. I need the 3 speed auto (no overdrive) flex plate (flywheel). The bolt holes on the torque converter must be 8 1/2" from center of hole across to center of hole. Over all tooth to tooth measurement is approx. 11 1/3". I also need the neutral start switch on the top of the transmission (where the shift cable plugs in), and the entire gear shifter from the inside to the trans. I need the bolts, brackets, and the metal arm that is held to the selector on top of the trans. I have pictures if needed to help emphasize what I am describing. The cheaper the better! Its Christmas time! Thank you!
I have tried Craigslist, Ebay and my local junkyards. The local yards are being bought out by lkq, bastards. So I am not coming up with much success yet. I am willing to buy a whole car and part it myself to get what I need.. thanks again 
First try Craigslist for your area, then Ebay, then look in the yellow pages for a UPull It Auto salvage. Those three have never failed me.
