Here are some more information for Monitor Oem:

Can you recall the parting words of the salesperson when you purchased your first laser printer? NO? Most probably, it sounded this way:
"When the printer runs out of toner, purchase only an OEM toner cartridge replacement to continuously derive quality prints.
Keep that in mind and you won't ever have to deal with printer troubles or unit damage in the future."
Well that seemed casual and friendly but did you ever wonder why he'd tell you that? Perhaps back then, this didn't ring a bell because you were too excited over your new purchase. Later the advice finally took a new twist when you had to get a replacement toner cartridge for the depleted starter cartridge.
OEM retail cartridges such as the Dell 310-8093 (for use on the Dell 3110 laser printer) are quite expensive - reaching more than $100 for its retail price. Why such hefty pricing for this consumable? Probably because OEMs tend to believe that nobody else can produce a more trusty replacement. And that compatibles are but poor imitation of OEM consumables and therefore cannot be trusted to come up with crisp, quality prints while covering yields of up to a couple of thousand pages at 5% coverage.
Today however, third party consumables are widely distributed in the printer consumables market; the most popular among users being the toner refill kit. Significantly, compatible toners not only match the performance of OEM toners but also come cheaper than retail cartridges.
Toner refill kits are the most affordable consumable in the market today. On the average, kits sell at 50% below the price tag of OEM retail cartridges. A Dell 3110 high yield toner refill kit for instance, is retailed at $70 while its counterpart OEM retail cartridge is sold at $130. That's one big discount that shouldn't be missed. Performance wise, crisp and clear prints are also achieved using toner refill kits and at times yield can even go beyond 5,000 pages at 5% coverage.
How come toner refill kits perform like OEM retail cartridges? The toner powder supplied with every kit has been expertly manufactured to match the composition and specification of a particular cartridge. In fact, the refill toner powder is a perfect clone to the OEM toner - even in terms of particle size and gram weight.
Why are toner refill kits less expensive despite its guaranteed OEM-like performance? Refill kits promote the recycling of empty toner cartridges. Thus, only the toner powder is provided with the kit (not the entire cartridge package) along with the basic tools necessary for a do-it-yourself refill. Typically, contents include a bottle of toner powder, toner wipes, a pair of latex gloves, a funnel cap and an instruction manual.
Indeed, the Dell toner refill kit is the perfect, alternative consumable to your laser printer.

Do you fell like someone is watching you? Well when you print someone is watching you
As you are frantically checking off your list of to do’s before your flight leaves you suddenly realize you forgot to print off your boarding pass! You run to the computer and pull open your itinerary to print, as you hit the print button a screen pops up and prompts you to replace empty ink cartridge. Wait you had just gone to the store and had that cartridge refilled. So why is your printer telling you that your cartridge is empty? When purchasing an OEM (Original equipment manufacturer) ink cartridge it will have a code imbedded into the electronics which ends in “00” once the cartridge has been completely used your printer will rewrite the code and change the last number. The new code will now read in printers as “01”, which normally one would be able to use refilled cartridges. Printer companies have now developed software updates for your printers which do nothing to extend the life of the ink cartridges nor will it improve the quality of print outs a printer has to offer. The reason the printer companies have developed these programs is to insure you are using their printer cartridges at outrageous prices.
When OEM printer supply companies’ sells drop nearly 20% they begin to ask why. Well the answer is competition who offers an OEM Alternative that works at a lower overall cost. So the OEM companies come up with a plan to bring sells back up. Step one raise prices 17% on all printer supplies, step two develop new products that cost more and yield a lower page cont, step three develop a software to monitor what customers are printing with, step four send out firmware updates to disable all non OEM products, step five run a multimillion dollar at campaign that tells customers that if they are not using OEM products customers will not get the same quality of prints.
So how are printer companies getting software onto consumer’s computers to monitor printing? It is very simple. Printers will not just magically print what is on a computer screen, printers require a driver to be installed into a computer in order for it to print. The driver program is on a disc which comes with printers, also on the disc there are other programs developed to monitor the product used and how often the product is replaced. The OEM companies use this information to prevent the consumer from using any other products.
When consumers install printer drivers they have the option of keeping the OEM companies monitoring software off their computers. When installing a driver it’s often easiest to download the driver directly from the provider’s website because all that is being downloaded is the driver. When downloading a driver from a disc install the minimal software provided consumers should read everything they are agreeing to and keep only the driver programs on their computers to prevent the OEM companies from monitoring their printing.
Ink refills work and in most cases work better then the OEM because OEM Alternative companies put the maximum amount of ink a cartridge can hold. Also most compies who refill keep less than a month’s supply in stock. OEM suppliers will often keep a larger quantity in stock, often times OEM product will sit on a shelf for so long it expires.

I want to upgrade my motherboard, but will i still be able to activate my Windows XP?
My computer I built myself, so my copy of Windows XP Home Edition is not OEM. Since I bought XP, I've upgraded much of my system (Monitor, CD-ROM, DVD, memory, etc.) and have been able to activate XP afterward. However, I'm afraid if I upgrade my motherboard, video card and processor, XP will no longer think it's the same computer and not validate. Any advice?? Oh, and I'm not buying Vista! Thanks!!
Yeah, since it's Retail, you should be able to explain and they will let you continue with no trouble.
If you had an OEM, that would be a different story however...
