Technological innovations are sweeping the world however the latest technology on four wheels has triggered a debate in the auto world. Several critics are saying that the automotive technology is nothing but evolutionary. In contrast, other critics contend that the same is revolutionary.

The automakers are cautious whether to jump onto the latest technology for the reason that one blunder might hinder their emergent goodwill. Moreover, they are looking forward for the adoption and mainstreaming of the most viable technological innovation in the present time. New car technologies include the Bluetooth, iPod integration, hybrids, hard top, powerful and fuel-efficient engines and more. Further, ergonomics and safety are improved by air bags and more.

Volvo and BMW auto parts were given powerful and highly beneficial systems. Volvo, for one, has integrated the BLIS system, short for Blindspot Information System. The latter utilizes camera in the outer mirrors for the driver to discover other vehicles entering the blind spots. The small blinking light further alerts the driver when it is not safe to change lanes. BMW, on the other hand, uses a night vision system with a thermal imaging camera to detect individuals, animals and inanimate objects. The heat readings of said system show bright hues. It also uses advanced infrared technology hence the system can read the road to as far as about 1,000 feet in front of the car without barriers on the headlights.

In regard to diesel developments, Mercedes-Benz has developed a system called BLUETEC. It processes exhaust transmission to burn cleaner and produce lesser emissions. The vehicles with BLUETEC system will be available in 45 states.

Parenthetically, Toyota parts made a climactic triumph when high-end hybrid engines were made part of the Toyota clan. These engines were incorporated in RX SUV, Prius and GS sports sedan. Lexus will also sell LS 600h L. Said vehicle is said to be the 'most technologically advanced' from the automaker.

Other groundbreaking technologies include MyGIG multimedia system from Dodgem Jeep and Chrysler. The system has a built-in 20-gigabyte hard drive which can store both photos and music. High-speed USB port, voice-guided navigation and real time traffic information were also incorporated to create most functional vehicles.

What the 2008 Jeep Liberty Has to Offer

With the wheelbase stretched a couple inches and the spare tire moved up underneath the vehicle, the 2008 Jeep Liberty gets its interior refreshed with hard plastic on the majority of the surfaces. The seats are now covered with some fairly nice perforated two-tone leather. One truly unique feature is the sliding canvas roof, which Jeep calls "Sky Slider".

The Jeep Liberty has remained a leader in the mid-size sport-utility vehicle (SUV) market since its introduction in 2002. All new from the wheels to the roof for 2008, the Jeep Liberty remains true to its legendary 4x4 heritage by offering two Jeep Trail Rated four-wheel-drive systems. The all-new 2008 Jeep Liberty offers a balance of off-road capability and on-road refinement with its all new

independent front suspension, all-new five-link rear suspension, and a power rack-and-pinion steering system.

The all-new Jeep Liberty is designed to appeal to customers who are looking for Jeep 4x4 capability as well as comfort and convenience. Inside, cargo and storage space are increased and seat comfort improved. The 2008 Jeep Liberty will make its debut as the new “Sky Slider full-open canvas roof”; giving the Jeep Liberty that "Only in a Jeep" open-air experience. Added to the vehicle's ever-growing list of available features and options are remote start, rain-sensing wipers, memory seats and mirrors, and express up-down windows. The 2008 Jeep Liberty was designed and engineered under the Chrysler Development System (CDS), which is the comprehensive, coordinated and disciplined product creation process that improves quality and speed-to-market while reducing costs and encouraging practical innovation in new products.

I want to know if i can disable a certain feature on my MyGIG multimedia system.?

Does anyone know how to make it play DVD's when it is not in park? I know why this feature is in place obviously, but some states its not required, and although it will play the audio while i drive, it would be nice to occasionally see the video. The dealer wouldnt do it, and there's nothing in the manual. They tell you how to disable the seatbelt warning, which is much more unsafe, but not this "play in park only" feature. Laughable. Like the Navigation, and music/satellite info displayed isnt a distraction? I dont get it.

I think I know what you are looking for, but it generally helps to know the vehicle. The first thing you need is to make sure you have a copy of the installation instructions. Look for the wire/color that is labeled to go to the park sensor or something to that effect. Take that wire and do one of two things. leave it disconnected and power on the unit. If that works, just tape off the end and leave is disconnected. If it gives you the warning with the wire disconnected, then attach a terminal to the end, and screw it in to the frame somewhere. You can typically use a screw that you find around the head unit with it removed. Once you ground it out it should work all the time. Either way this one wire is your key.
Remember: Study the wiring well and double check everything, I take no responsibility for something frying, and certainly take no responsibility for any tickets you recieve for violating laws.
