Do I need a amp for a 600w max power 10" subwoofer?
I am looking into buying a 10" subwoofer or smaller for my car. I'm wondering if I need a amp or if I could still get good bass without one. I do not think i will be able to but i thought i should ask. If so what is a good one that cost cheap that could provide the power I need?
I will say yes unless you have a head deck that can handle a woofer I'm in Australia and pioneer i think has a head deck that can power two 10" sub's at about 300 Watts each but if you have a really good head deck and sub I'd advise you to get a medioca amp cause you don't want to go to cheap and burn out the valves cause it will shorten the life of your head deck if your going to only run one sub I'd recommend a 3-400 Watt amp cause you can all ways bridge it but if you are going to run 2 sub eventually I'd go 4 something round the 600 mark i run 2 12" concealed Orion subs with a 600 Watt amp bridge then i just turned the gain dial down so they don't get the full power have fun and good luck
