Digital Designs 3515 amp question...please?
My hands are tied. I originally planned on getting the Powerbass ASA 1500.1D that puts out 1500rms @ 1ohm. But now I spotted a Memphis Belle MCH1300 that will power my front and rear door speakers, along with my sub, which will power my sub at only 1100rms @ 1ohm. What I'm really asking is, since both amps are a little underrated, will roughly 400 watts make a big, big difference in how loud my DD will get. Thanks!
guy above, you are 100% WRONG.. underpowering a sub can not damage it AT ALL, what blows a sub is clipped signals from the amp being sent to the subwoofer resulting in over heating of the voice coils, which makes them eventually blow, dont post till you understand what you're talking about
what you wanna do with the amps, get the one with the higher rating, set gains correctly with a DMM not by the ear.. using an o-scope can assist you when setting gains so you can see exactly when the amp begins to clip, clipping isnt a good thing at all just so you know, its what can blow subs and amps.. its better to run a higher rated amp under the max it can push, than pushing a lower rated amp to it's max just to get the same wattage from it.
