Ipod Car Adapters: Your Favorite Music, Anywhere
Though most people nowadays have an iPod mp3 player, you don't often see them driving with their earphones in. And why should they? Ever since Apple came out with their iPod car adapters, many music lovers are listening to their favorite tunes wire-free right from their car stereo. That's right; Companies have released three different iPod car adapters up-to-date, and all have become a popular buy for iPod enthusiasts.
The wireless iPod car adapter is a popular buy because of its versatility. It isn't permanently attached to your car, so you can take it to share when a friend is driving. Wireless iPod car adapters connect your iPod to FM radio stations in order to transmit the sound to your car's stereo system. As the user, you are in control of which radio station your music is transmitted through, so you have the ability to choose whether or not one available station is better than another. This type of adapter offers high-quality, wireless sound and works best in cities and states that are not overrun with radio stations.
A second option is one of iPod's jack adapters. Popular car dealers, including Mazda, Toyota, and Chevrolet have started including the built-in version with some of their most popular models. If your car didn't come with a built-in jack, there's no need to worry. Companies sell jacks and connections separately as well, so you can always get your own installed. One of the benefits of a jack adapter is that, when built into the car, it is also completely wireless. And whether built-in or not, jack adapters offer the highest quality sound available for car stereos.
The wireless adapter and the jack adapter can sometimes be expensive, depending on your car and on the type you purchase. If you're looking to install a jack adapter into your car, that, in itself, can be a considerable expense for many. And if you're in a city saturated with radio stations, interference from other FM stations over your iPod can become a problem. If you have a cassette player in your car, however, these issues can be easily resolved. The third type of iPod adapter available is a cassette adapter. They are usually purchased by those who have an older model car, or simply for those on a budget. Though the sound quality is not as good with a cassette adapter, it is the most cost-friendly option, as well as the easiest to use.
Whether you choose the wireless adapter for uncluttered convenience, the built-in jack for high-quality sound, or the cassette kit for the best price, you'll love the freedom of going anywhere you want while still being able to listen to your favorite music, right from your car's stereo.

04 Impalla, where is the FM direct adapter hook up for a sat radio?
I need to hook up the FM direct adapter but can't seem to find it. Is it in the trunk? Under the passenger side or do i need to actually take it to a dealer to get it installed?
Probably behind the headunit. Its not too hard to get to. you just pull the fuse covers off the sides of the dash. unscrew those screws. then unscrew the ones at your gauges, and then pull the whole dash out. there might be a couple more I don't remember. its been a while since I took the dash off of my impala. but what you're looking for is most likely behind the dash board where all the wiring for your audio is.
Review: Altec Lansing inMotion Classic and Compact
You can't go wrong with either of these Altec Lansing units. If you need more portability, and you don't mind using AA batteries in exchange for better battery life, then go with the Compact. If you prefer a built-in battery, along with the luxuries of a remote control, an FM radio, and more onboard controls, the Classic will suit you perfectly.
