Here are some more information for Radio Service:

Even though many have feigned that the radio would gradually disappear with the dawn of other media, the radio has tailored well to the technological innovations of the last several decades; and now, entertainment and news radio online are the popular services used by millions of people. As the digital world continues to progress at lightning speed, services that never before charmed a web page are becoming more and more prejudice to the internet. On such service is the radio. The radio is the chief source of news, music and entertainment that was very popular long before the television was born. Now, with the services of the internet, the radio has dramatically changed the broadcasts of local city radio stations to a vast global audience.
And as does every modernization, the online radio has many advantages and a few disadvantages for makers and listeners alike. The following paragraphs concisely describes some of the advantages and drawbacks of entertainment and online news radio, however I think you'll discover that despite some downsides, overall, the internet radio is a great form of media that offers amazing openings for both the listener and initiator of radio shows.
First and foremost, one disadvantage of the internet radio is sensibly debatable at this point: one can't listen to live radio on the internet unless you have an internet connection. Providentially, most people in the world have access to the internet either at work, home or at other district locations such as cafes and local libraries. Correspondingly, people who don't have access to a computer cannot listen to the radio online. Nevertheless, in our modernized world today, most people and companies depend on computers for daily tasks, granting most people access to a computer.
Another disadvantage of such innovation is that online radio uses large amounts of bandwidth. For this reason, some workplaces set restrictions on their workers listening to online radio; but as the internet means greatly increase, the problem is promptly being addressed.
If you have access to the internet and have an adequate bandwidth available, online radio can give a host of advantages, specifically for those who want to establish and run a radio show with a low running cost. Radio techs and DJs can labor from anywhere in the world and they don't have to be centrally located, making employee organization and maintenance easier. With online radio, it's also easier to exactly tell the number of people who are listening to a program and to gather pressing feedback from listeners.
Makers of online radio programs have the autonomy to converse about whatever they want, to pick their own segments and to generate their own line-up. Internet live radio stations provide a means of expression, similar to blogs, that permits people to converse topics that matter most to them, without being expurgated. Since online radio is so simple, more and more programs are starting to show on the internet that contrasts in style and content, which is an advantage for those running online radio programs and for the avid listeners.
With the local city radio stations, people can only listen to fastidious programs within a specific geographic range; and once you leave that range, you can no longer listen to that particular radio station. However, with the internet radio, you'll be able to listen to your desired radio shows from anywhere in the world.
Lastly, another advantage of online radio station programs is that people can listen to their preferred programs on demand. If you miss a show, you can just stream it later when you have more time. Many websites allow users to listen to earlier shows at their own convenience.
Whether you're searching for news radio or an internet music radio station online, radio via the internet is a magnificent innovation that is taking the cyberspace by storm. With its benefits offering an easy access, freedom of speech and many more, it's easy to see why the internet radio is becoming more and more popular than any other media forms in today's society.

Going On A Long Trip? Satellite Radio Is A Must
If you are thinking of taking a car trip you absolutely must have a satellite radio for your vehicle. With a satellite radio you won't have to spend hours of your trip trying to find a new radio station. Instead, you will be able to keep the same station on during your whole trip.
Both of the major satellite systems offer hundreds of themed stations so if you like listening to sports or listening to kids music you will be able to find the right station for you. Sirius and XM Radio use separate radio frequencies to transmit their music throughout the country. No matter which service you choose you are sure to have uninterrupted music for your whole trip.
One problem that many people are having is that each service provider has specific programs that are only available to their subscribers. One offers baseball coverage while the other offers football coverage. One is more broadcasting based while the other is more programming based. Many customers liked aspects of both services and just could not decide on which one was best for them. For these customers Interoperable Technologies was started.
Interoperable Technologies is a joint venture between Sirius Radio and XM Radio. Their goal is to offer customers a new programming product that will combine all the best features of both services. Customers will have to pay a little bit more than the usual satellite radio price but the higher price is well worth it for individuals who really enjoy having satellite radio in their vehicle.
In their research Interoperable technologies has found many clients that are willing to pay a higher monthly fee to get both services. But customers are also a little leery about if this is every going to actually happen, because right now the whole thing is still in the developmental stage and no combined service is yet available to the general public.
Satellite radio is a great new way of listening to music and enjoying the variety of channels that are available anywhere in the country. You are no longer confined to the local radio channels; instead you can browse music stations based on their themes. By browsing this way you can find the exact type of music to fit any mood you are in.
You don't have to be taking a road trip to enjoy satellite radio stations. Anyone who has a vehicle will find that these radio services are a great way to get the most out of their radios, no matter what kind of trip they are taking. Even driving to the grocery store is more fun with a satellite radio system in your vehicle.

What is your favorite online radio service and why?
I currently listen to Yahoo Launchcast and think it's great, but wanted to find out what else is out there. Thanks.
I listen to Sirius online almost all day for BBC Radio 1, Howard Stern, and Jay Thomas. I go to XM online on occasion, and I listen to stations through http://www.radiotower.com sometimes as well.
Slacker Radio 2.0 for iPhone will allow offline playback
The popular Slacker Radio app will soon receive a much anticipated update to 2.0, which, assuming the app is approved, will allow it to cache stations for offline listening.
