European and Asian luxury car manufacturers need to watch out. The all-new for 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe is a beastly beauty, an absolute head turner and the latest model in the vaunted CTS portfolio. The most recent iteration of this car goes on sale late this summer, the clearest demonstration of Cadillac's art and science design scheme in all of its chiseled glory.
Concept Coupe
I'm biased when it comes to this model because I was on hand at the 2008 North American International Auto Show in Detroit when the concept of this coupe was rolled out. Its striking design captivated the audience, especially its non-existent B-pillar. Safety considerations required slight changes to the coupe's appearance since then, with a very discreet B-pillar added in. Other than that, the original beauty we saw way back when is what consumers can now buy.
Cadillac is central to GM's recovery plans with the CTS portfolio driving the brand's success. With sedans, sports wagons and coupes now part of the line up, this mid-size Cadillac line offers a worthy challenge to competing brands including BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Lexus, Infiniti and Acura. Yes, Cadillac easily bests Lincoln with the CTS, providing a strong American built line able to take on the world's best production cars.
Powerful Engine
A standard direct-injected 3.6-liter V-6 engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission, featuring a revised clutch and dual-mass flywheel that Cadillac says offers better clutch pedal feel and improved engine isolation. Optionally, CTS buyers can select a six-speed automatic transmission with Driver Shift Control (and available steering wheel mounted shift buttons). Significantly, the Coupe's final drive ratio is 3.73:1, up from the 3.42:1 ratio of other CTS models, allowing for more responsive acceleration.
Because handling is a critically important aspect for the Coupe, GM is offering a pair of suspension-tuning levels with the CTS. Standard is the Performance Package with 18-inch wheels and all-season tires (available in both rear- and all-wheel-drive), and the Summer Tire Performance Package, with 19-inch tires and wheels and a higher level of road-hugging ability. Stability control is standard across the CTS model line.
Cabin Amenities
Important amenities offered include a 40-gig hard drive, featuring the ability to store music and pause-and-replay live radio; iPod/MP3 capability; OnStar; navigation system; Bluetooth connectivity; keyless access; rear camera unit; Bose audio system and adaptive lighting.
Safety features are offered in abundance and include front and side airbags and side curtain airbags; tire pressure monitoring unit; and a stronger body structure with high grade steel strategically placed to afford better protection.
Just like the other CTS body styles, a V-Series version of the Coupe will be made available later this year. Powered by a 6.2-liter tuned Corvette V-8 engine, this car will bang out 556 horsepower and 551 pound-feet of torque, an amazing feat for a simply dazzling sport coupe.

Reverse Cameras--Important Tips Before Purchasing Or Fitting
Reverse Cameras have become valuable safety aids for the more
expensive or upper end vehicle brands. Could You fit and use one,Of course you can.
WHAT IS A REVERSE CAMERA?
A Reverse Camera is a camera fixed to the rear of the car, Rv,
caravan, truck or even boat to name a a small number of applications.
A monitor is positioned in the car in front of the driver
activated when the auto is placed in reverse either from one of the reversing
lights or the switch on the gearbox
THE REVERSE CAMERA AS A SAFETY AID!
The Reversing camera is a logical progression from parking
sensors. Cameras permit the driver to observe the rear bumper and beyond.
Most vehicles tested that do not have cameras have obvious reversing blind spots.Test results indicate that cars with reversing cameras can vastly improve rear visibility.
THE FITTING OF A CAMERA KIT
The Fitting of the reverse camera is not all that difficult. But you should possibly get it fitted by a professional as in most cases you must cut into the framework of the car(not always).
The reverse camera must also be placed in the right position as get to gain maximum exposure at the rear of the vehicle
The screen fits either on or in the dashboard. But the most
common fit over the excisting rearview mirror with straps.
The wiring is the most time consuming, even though the newer kits are "Wireless",you still have to connect to the power and reversing switch which is not that difficult
IMPORTANT POINTS TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT
Since it's very inconvenient and exceedingly unsafe for the driver to be required to toggle the system on manually every time he or she wants to back up, it's imperative that you never purchase a rear view camera system without the capacity to switch on mechanically
A reverse camera system should have the capability to produce a 'mirror' (or 'reverse') view through the camera and/or monitor. If a approach doesn't specifically list this element, then it almost certainly doesn't have this feature
CMOS AND CCD FIELD OF SIGHT
The field of view provided by any camera is determined by a pattern of image sensor size and lens . The bigger the image sensor, the wider the potential field of view. While a 90 degree field of view may be sufficient for some smaller vehicles, a 120 degree field of view is perfect You should steer clear of any system that produces poorer than a 90 degree field of view.
Given the selection, you should always select a rear view camera system that utilizes a high quality CCD image sensor from a well known manufacturer. If the system you require doesn't state that it utilizes a "CCD" imager, then it almost certainly doesn't.
NIGHT SIGHT
Always take into account purchasing a rear view camera system that does include night vision lighting. The infrared night vision illuminators should provide a minimum of 10 feet of illumination, and 20 to 30 feet or more of illumination is clearly recommended.
WIRED VS WIRELESS SYSTEM
One consideration should be that most of the wireless systems have directional antennas on the camera and receiver that must be aimed preciselyat each other. Most have antennas that are without difficulty damaged during normal use.
I prefer a wired system for reliability. If you really insist on a wireless reverse camera system, then you will have to settle for a inferior quality picture due to intereference etc, always go for maximum quality in this respect
