One of the mistakes common to people new to the RC car hobby is assuming that all non-electric RC cars can just run on normal petrol (gasoline). This is a potentially huge issue, as filling up your new car with petrol could ruin the engine, leading to a very costly repair job. The reason behind this is because most of these non-electric RC cars actually run on a mixture of methane, nitromethane and oil, commonly termed as nitro fuel. This can only be bought at specialist hobby stores and is usually far more expensive than normal every day petrol.
The real confusion lies in the fact that these two distinct type of radio controlled cars are often labeled under the very misleading umbrella term of petrol RC cars or gas powered RC cars. There are of course cars that are actually gas or petrol RC cars, that can be run on the same fuel as your car, and are thus much cheaper to operate, but these are relatively few and far between, and usually also quite a bit larger. Standard nitro RC cars clock in at between 20 - 60 cm (8 - 24 inches) in length, while typical petrol RC cars are generally just under a metre (3 ft.) in length. Size is by far the easiest method of telling the two apart at a glance, but it is also important to read the instructions that came with the car. If the word nitro is anywhere in it, don't even think of trying to run it on petrol.
The engines differ a bit, hence the need to avoid mixing the up which fuel to use, as nitro RC cars use a glow engine as opposed to the standard petrol engine found in petrol RC cars. This means that Nitro RC cars have a glow plug instead of a spark plug, which to ignite the fuel must become hot. This is achieved by using a glow starter, which is usually separate from the car, and is only used to start it and is then removed. Nitro fuel is less explosive than petrol, so runs at a higher temperature, meaning the entire engine design is different. Think of it as the difference between a petrol and diesel engine in you everyday car.
The only real advantage (it is however a quite major one) of petrol RC cars over nitro RC cars is that they are so incredibly cheaper to run. In fact, even at current petrol prices, nitro fuel still generally costs about 5 times more, and it can also be rather harder to source. The increase in size could also be seen as an advantage to some, offering a closeness to full size cars in the way it behaves when driving. They are also easier to run and maintain, not being so finickity in regards to the climate and not requiring constant tuning in the way that nitro RC cars seem to. All in all it is really the preference of the individual that decides which sort to get, especially if they appreciate and understand the differences between them.

New Mercury With a Not-so-new Name
The 2008 version of Montego will no longer be called by its original name because it will now be using Mercury Sable, a familiar old name in the past. Mercury Sable is set to invade showrooms with a new level of style sophistication and with greater power.
The 2008 Mercury Sable, unveiled at the 2007 Chicago Auto Show, offers aficionados a more confident ride and handling with its new set of remarkable features. Aside from unique design, refined features and improved power, its overall appeal could set it apart in the market.
When asked about the use of an old name as replacement, Mark Fields, Ford’s President of the Americas said, “[Consumer] awareness of Sable is triple that of Montego.” The Sable’s new grille digs a little deeper into the brands new DNA, drawing cues from its redesigned sibling - Mercury Mariner, an SUV. The bumper beneath the grille is dug in. Said design contributed in the enhancement of the character of Sable. Its unique nose gives it a more prominent face.
The Sable’s interior is modernized in a unique way with distinct trim options and two-tone seating surfaces with contrast stitching. It is also equipped with convenience and entertainment features which include DVD navigation, SIRIUS satellite radio, fully-integrated mobile phones and digital media players, and Ford Sync to boost the driving experience. Said power is generated by the standard Duratec 35 V-6 and six-speed automatic transmission. The powerplant produces an estimated 260 horsepower 30 percent more than that of the Montego and 245 pound-feet of torque. The standard electronic stability control and all-wheel drive provide easy driving in varied weather conditions.
Mercury Sable’s tail-end is also an eye candy. New taillights are largely white, with a red strip at the bottom. This design technique is essentially exchanging the red and white color treatment found on the current car. In addition, the trunk lid has been changed, moving the license plate down onto the vehicle’s modified rear bumper. Other enthusiasts expect that Sable could use Apexi Cold Air Intake and other significant auto accessories and systems. They are also expecting that customization could be had to personalize the performance of the Sable.
“Mercury products are aimed at winning over new customers who value distinct touches, and this new Sable is sure to impress with a more refined interior design and jewel-like details throughout,” said Cisco Codina, Ford’s group vice president of North America Marketing, Sales and Service. “Mercury has a great deal of momentum right now, with a fresh lineup including the redesigned Mariner small SUV and popular Milan sedan. The new Sable will help continue this momentum.”
The Sable’s modern, clean and distinctive look radiates a dash of finesse and elegance. These design philosophy are also imbibed in the Mercury Mountaineer, Milan and Mariner. “Mercury customers tend to have a more unique sense of style,” said Moray Callum, director, Ford Car Design. “They have come to expect a different level of sophistication and refinement in the surface development, paint finishes and details like satin aluminum.”
To match its stylish exterior, the interior of the vehicle is made comfortable, elegant and airy. The two-tone interior trim with unique accents gives customers the preference over technical appearance of their Sable. In view of the safety features of Sable, Mercury equip it with AdvanceTrac electronic stability control system, complete lineup of air bags for driver and front passenger, and Ford’s Safety Canopy side curtain air bags for both rows of seats. All-new Sable will return to showrooms this coming summer.

When I put my "96" Sable in gear I lose my radio, power steering, and power brakes?
The car seems to be running ok , but when its in drive or reverse several of the electrical assc. stop working, then randomly will come back during a turn. Please help if this sounds familiar.
Of course it's familiar...you drive one of the worst cars made by Ford. Sell that piece and get a better car as it isn't worth putting money into that one to fix your electrical problem. HOWEVER, the problem is in the ignition switch. The wiring is connecting and disconnecting as you move things around in the steering column.
Ex-Chesapeake deputy pleads guilty to bank robberies
CHESAPEAKE The robber wasn't subtle. He strode directly to the tellers' counter at the BB&T bank branch on Volvo Parkway the morning of July 10. He was carrying a duffel bag and wearing sunglasses, a white painter's mask, white latex gloves and the hood up on his sweatshirt. Employees saw a gun on his right hip and heard a police radio squawking.
