Credit cards are fast replacing the cash payment mechanisms. With online shopping a way of life now, it is imperative that businesses are able to accept credit cards. Today, an average citizen has at least four credit cards, and they are ready to shop using cards for anything, be it online or in shops.
With such good penetration of credit cards, any business owner, even if the scale of business is not too big, should not miss out on implementing credit card payment gateways at their business establishments or websites.
Implementing the Credit Card Payment System:
There are three important parts of a credit card processing system. The first part is a secure form; one that is S.S.L. enabled and will be used to take the credit card details of the customers. This form will capture the details of the customer's credit card and the total payment will be made.
S.S.L. is short for Secure Socket Layer, a way to encrypt the sensitive credit card information, and is supported by all major browsers and ISPs.
The second thing is getting a merchant account with the bank where all the money will be deposited. For that, you will have to get in touch with a bank that will set up the account etc.
Thirdly, you need payment-processing software, which will connect you with the bank and help you accept payments.
If you want, you can bypass all this and implement a third party account as well, which will take care of all these hassles while you get all your money. However, they charge on a per transaction basis, so on every transaction that they process, you will need to pay a fee. Some may also charge a one time account setup fee as well.
Benefits of Accepting Credit Card Payments:
Accepting credit cards is quite beneficial for all merchants, be it small business owners or large sellers. If a small business owner does not accept credit cards, he/she may lose on the huge crowd of customers in the market, as people prefer more and more to shop with cards.
Next, all the international customers like business travelers, or tourists, prefer to use credit cards when shopping. Tourism and travel are on an all time high, and any merchant who does not offer the facility to accept credit card payments will lose out to them.
There are many facilities which small business owners can derive from such a payment system. Visa has come up with a new cash and credit management product for small business owners. Most credit cards in the world are Visa cards.
Since online purchases can be safely and quickly made using credit cards, most people prefer card payments only. If a small business owner has not implemented the credit card facility for online customers, he/she may lose out to a large number of online shoppers.
Many customers are impulsive buyers. Such customers will buy whenever they see something interesting, wherever they see it. They may not have cash on them at the time, but if they like something, they will buy it with their credit card. So to harness such customers, small business owners need to put a credit card payments system in place.
Some customers may not have enough cash reserves to shop, but may choose to buy now and pay the credit card company later.
Checks cannot be used as a reliable method of accepting payments, as they may bounce due to insufficient funds. Credit cards relieve the merchant of the concerns whether he will get his money or not.
Small business owners can make money as well as save money, as credit card payments are faster modes of payment especially if the business is run online.

Dell Precision M20 Battery Stops Charging When I Move The Power Cord
My Dell laptop has a power problem.
The Dell Precision M20 Batterystops charging when I move the power cord on the DC adapter. When I start moving the cord left to right, the power LED light on the front goes on and off and the battery charge LED goes on and off too.
I removed the precision m20 battery and tested the laptop again. The laptop starts fine from the DC adapter when the battery is removed, but as soon as I start moving the power cord the laptop shuts off. It looks like the laptop looses power immediately.
If you have a problem like that, most likely it’s related either to the power adapter or the DC-IN power jack.
First of all, I tested the laptop power ac adapter with a multimeter. The power didn’t cut off no matter how badly I moved the cord. The power adapter output voltage was 15.45VDC all the time. That means there is nothing wrong with the power adapter and most likely there is a problem with with the power socket inside the laptop.
Now I’m going to test the power socket inside the laptop.
In order to access the power socket I had to disassemble the laptop and remove the top cover assembly with the display.
You can find disassembly instructions for many HP, Dell, IBM, Lenovo, Sony and Toshiba laptops in these service manuals and guides.
In the laptop I was fixing (Tecra M2) the power jack is attached to a DC-IN harness and this harness can be unplugged from the motherboard.
As you see, I removed the DC-IN harness from the motherboard, plugged in the power adapter and tested continuity with my multimeter as it shown on the picture.
When the power cord is still, the voltage output is 15.45VDC, the same as on the plug.
But as soon as I start wiggling the plug inside the jack, the power cuts off and voltage goes to 0. It means, the power harness is bad.
The problem was fixed after I replaced the defective DC-IN harness with a new one.
In some laptops the power socket (DC jack) is soldered to the motherboard.
If the battery stops charging when you wiggle the power plug inside the jack, either you have a bad power adapter (test it with a voltmeter) or the power jack is broken or loose.
You cannot simply unplug the jack and replace it with another one. You’ll have to unsolder the old jack and solder a new one back on the motherboard as I described in this post.
If the power jack is not broken but loose (not making good contact with the motherboard) you can resolder the old jack without replacing it with a new one.
If you want to buy a new one,you can see more information from http://www.udtek.com

I'm stumped on a fuel pump circuit problem! Need Ford Tech Answerer?
I have a 96 Ford Explorer 2WD, automatic with the 4.0 engine:
Is there any reason why the fuel pump circuit, with the fuel pump relay installed, will go from battery voltage down to a steady 6.75 volts in 1-2 seconds with Key On Engine Off, yet when the relay is removed and the circuit is jumped from the B+ relay socket to the fuel pump circuit socket it maintains a little over 12 volts steadily with Key On Engine Off? Is there a timer in the PCM?
Also, other than the fuel pump being broken, is there any reason why the fuel pump will not turn when jumping the fuel pump relay socket from B+ to the relay's fuel pump circuit socket?
I have good continuity from the inertia switch to the fuel pump connector. I get a steady 12 volts between the relay harness VPWR socket and ground with Key On Engine Off.
I'm just trying to make sure that it is my fuel pump that is down before I go through the work of dropping the tank and replacing the pump.
One, A volt meter reads difference only so it can throw you off track. Ford actually recommends to use a headlight bulb and jumpers to verify circuitry of the PCM like that.
Pin 85 and 86 is the control with 85 being power if I remember and 86 being the ground at the PCM to run it (85 and 86 is the control circuits and are written on the relay as such)
Pin 30 should be battery voltage with pin 87 on the outer being the one going to the pump.
As others have stated, the EEC computer will power the relay for 2 seconds with no crank pulse from the CKP sensor to build pressure in the line for easier starting. after that it requires either a CKP pulse or a active command from a indepandant shop grade or better scan tool with active command function (such as my snap on (universal scan tool I keep at the shop for chevy and chrysler work I get occasionally) but usually my NGS + or IDS ) to activate the fuel pump relay
So easiest thing is to verify 85 and 86 is a test light and see if they light up when key is switched.. if yes, then install jumper between pin 30 and 87 and check for voltage at pump.. if 12 volts there.. it's pump
Usually I have an assistant crank while I check for power at FP on rail to determine if fuel pump is history
Haitian amputee gets a new arm
She awoke before dawn in the one-room shack she shares with four family members and began to dress. She straightened the bandage on the stump of her left arm and donned a denim skirt and white sleeveless blouse. Then she walked half a mile up the dirt road to the village center and squeezed into a cab for the jarring ride to get a new left arm.
