The first stop on the road to a louder car stereo system is to find the right head unit, otherwise known as a Head unit or CD Player. Some players are nothing more than a dash mounted single disc stereo with an FM tuner. Others are more elaborate with a dash mounted control head, Built in DVD players, Touch screen panels and a ten disc changer mounted in the trunk. Any of these can be bought at your local department stores, audio stores or an online audio outlet website.

- Next, you'll need some speakers to go along with the CD player. A set of four speakers, is the best way to go with two speakers to the front of the car and two in the back deck. Generally speaking, the speakers in the back of the car are larger than those to the front, and easier to install. Could also consider using Tweeters for a more high pitch clarity. There are many types of speakers you can run with in the front and rear of your vehicle myself i use a component set in the front of my car and basic 6 1/4 2 ways in the rear of my car, but each person have different sound tastes as i like to say.

- After you have your system installed, you'll probably decide it still isn't loud enough. That's where a good amplifier comes in. The amp takes the audio signal from the CD player and boosts the signal going to the speakers. When you're shopping for an amp, make sure the speakers you bought can handle the wattage rating of the amplifier. You'll want to mount your amp somewhere out of the way to keep it from getting damaged. The trunk is usually a good place, or under the seat also if you have the extra money to spend you can also go a little crazy and have custom Amp and speaker enclosures made with various types of wood, metals, and fiberglass with neon's or anything else you can think up to put in there. Another thing to think about but you'll have to have long enough audio cables to reach back to the head and heavy duty speaker wire to reach back to the speakers.

- While you're at it, why not install sub woofers as well. They will reproduce the bass sounds from your stereo with much more clarity, and volume, than the four speakers in the car combined. Now that you have all of this audio equipment installed, you need to keep thieves from uninstalling it. Car alarm systems are affordable and can be purchased at the same store you bought your CD player. They are relatively easy to install and well worth the money for what you have invested in your audio equipment.

All of this equipment is made by various manufacturers such as Sony, Kenwood, JVC, Panasonic, Pioneer, Alpine, Earthquake, Fusion, and Bose. Before you spend any money on audio equipment, you may want to do some research to find out what system is best for you. Ask some friends, read online product reviews or find a car audio forum on the internet and get some opinions there. That way you'll be sure to get the sound system you want and feel assured you got the most for you money..

In-Dash Receivers. Opinions About Pioneer Avh-P4100Dvd

If you're wondering about buying this explicit in sprint receiver, here are few critiques about video, sound and radio options of this receiver.

Video High quality

Album covers from ipods are okay. A bit fuzzy, however okay.
DVDs look superior on this unit. Each little bit of what you'd want. There are plenty of control options. Haven't any complaints on this one.
Colour on the display is vibrant and straightforward to learn and choosing things on the screen is also easy. It's a delicate contact, so I by no means must press hard. Many of the textual content is very giant, so it's easy to read and select on the screen in a moving car. Has a clean look, might be impressive to passengers, however when off, nothing that makes it look fancy. And the unit appears just nearly as good in actual life as in the pictures.

Sound Options

EQ is parametric, solely three bands, however it lets you select what frequency and what number of frequencies on either aspect of that one are affected. Gives sufficient flexibility for those who could also be used to a 7 or 10 band EQ.
Additionally, for exterior players, the feature that compensates for MP3 compressed audio is great. Actually helps improve the sound from ipods.
The Loudness feature has three intensity levels--fairly helpful since on some units the difference between it being on and off can be crazy.
The sub woofer settings let you choose the sub frequency you wish to accent or cut back--assuming you have got one with an exterior amplifier connected.

Radio

HD radio is great, but when selecting presets, it does not insert the identify of the station like it does with normal FM. All you see is P1, P2, etc. And I have yet to discover a method to manually add it in. I don't anticipate to. In case you use the HD in sprint receiver, the traditional radio performance within the unit is disabled. You'll be able to still get the analog - signals, it simply works a little bit differently. It looks like they forgot to dot a couple of i's. But it switches back and forth between the analog signal and digital sign fairly well.

The automated station presets (BSM) only work in each preset group. Each group only has 6 options. So, you can't have it discover the highest 18 strongest signals. For instance, in case you use BSM setup for FM set 1, and then do the identical for FM set 2, they've practically the identical stations in them.

AM stations don't are available in well. Once they come in, they sound great. It principally acts like a digital sign, so it either comes in and out rapidly so you can't catch the phrases, does not are available in at all, or it's on perfectly. When completely, it sounds a lot better than a standard stereo. Guess is that there's a processor in the unit that tries to clean up the signal. But as a result, weaker alerts are merely lower off. You can't flip this characteristic off. AM HD actually sounds better, nevertheless it requires a stronger signal than the analog AM.

How do I connect an iPod to an "audiophile in-dash six CD sound system" in my Mercury Mountaineer?

Hey, guys. I have a 2003 Mercury Mountaineer with an "audiophile in-dash six CD sound system" stereo. I am going on a long trip and want to connect my iPod to the stereo system. How is it that I can go about doing this? I don't want to buy one of those $300 factory made adaptors. Something under $50?

If you have a cassette player then you can buy an adapter. I have one, and it works quite well. Not the best sound quality, but it does the job. You can also do FM modulation, but that is a pretty poor method. You really just need to foot the bill for a direct connect.

Playing with pasta
Forget about typical tomato-sauce pasta dishes. It's time to learn some new Italian. Mainstream pastas, such as spaghetti, are quick to cook, versatile and inexpensive. Pastas such as potato gnocchi, a light potato dumpling, or orecchiette, a pasta shaped like a small ear, sound more sophisticated. But that doesn't mean they're difficult to make.
