I am amping my door speakers, can i add tweeters that run off old speaker wire?
I am amping all my door speakers, but i figured there will still be the old wire still there from the head unit leading to each door. So i figured why not add 1 surface mounted tweeter near each door speaker for better vocals. The only question is, can i just use the old wire that will be in my door from the head unit for the tweeters, or what else should i do?

you could do this, but without using a crossover you risk blowing any tweeters that you install.
tweeters can only handle the high frequency range of music. If you add them to the old speaker wire they will be getting the full range of music from the headunit. this means bass, and midbass which will blow any tweeers very quickly as the amount of movement needed to produce those sounds is more than those tiny cones can handle
