This article is intended to give some tips about RC Planes for beginners, and some good practices on how to learn the hobby of model aviation.
My fascination with the world of "aeromodeling" or "model aviation" goes back since when I was a child. The lack of resources and adequate information back then did not allow me to pursue this hobby. I recently re-ignited that desire of mine to fly a Radio-Controlled Model Airplane and thought I'd share my experiences for those who have been thinking about taking up this fascinating hobby.
As I started gathering information on model aircrafts and radio controlled models, I immediately realized that it was not as easy at it seemed. The field of aeromodeling is just too vast to be able to know everything in a short span. So, I created a small action plan for myself which I want to share:
Step 1: Understand the basics of aircraft building and the different aspects of model aircraft. Also spend some time in understanding the concepts behind "flight" and how airplanes fly. This is very crucial and will play a huge role if you want to become a serious aeromodeller.
Step 2: Start by building some simple "free flight" gliders. Free flight model aircrafts are those that do not require any external control. You simply throw them into the air, and they fly for a certain distance. These are simple gliders made of lightweight wood (balsa) or thick paper. This will give you a good introduction to building model airplanes and clear some concepts about flight.
Step 3: Get your hands on a simulator that is especially for Radio Controlled airplanes. There are a few of them available in the market, and can be found at your local hobby store. There are free simulators also available for download, like FMS or Flight Model Simulator. You will need to get a Radio (Transmitter) that can be connected to your computer to be able to use the simulator. This is a great way to learn and practice radio controlled flying.
Step 4: Buy and build your first Radio Controlled airplane from scratch. Your first airplane should be a electric-powered "glider", that is very forgiving and best for beginners. There are several available in the market that are already assembled, called Ready-to-Fly (RTF), or require some assembly, Almost Ready to Fly (ARF). I would suggest getting a kit that has to be completely assembled from scratch. It is very good practice and is the essence of aeromodelling.
Step 5: Locate a huge open field where you can practice flying your glider. There should be no tall buildings, trees, etc close to the field. Usually a field as big as a football field is good for a beginner. It is a good idea to have an experienced RC-flier with you for the first few flights.
Those were some quick tips on "RC Planes for Beginners". There is a lot more to learn and understand in the world of aeromodelling. It is a great hobby, which is also a recognized sport. Do spend some time to learn more about this great hobby.

Sports Radio Lineup Change At 99.9 Fm The Fan, 620 Am The Buzz
RALEIGH, N.C. (February 18, 2010) – Capitol Broadcasting Company (CBC) has announced that Mark & Mike, The Insiders, will be switching time slots and stations with Adam & Joe, effective Thursday, February 18.
Adam Gold & Joe Ovies will be moving into the 99.9 FM The Fan afternoon slot (3-7 PM) while Mark Thomas and Mike Maniscalco, The Insiders, are headed to the morning slot (6-9 AM) on 620 AM The Buzz.
Adam & Joe have become staples on Triangle sports radio, working together for six years prior to joining CBC in October. Gold has been in sports radio for over a decade, spending most of his career on the air across the Triangle. Ovies served as general manager at the North Carolina State University student station, WKNC, prior to joining Adam & Joe.
A cornerstone of CBC’s sports radio programming since the launch of 99.9 FM The Fan in 2007, Mark Thomas and Mike Maniscalco bring a distinct local flavor to area sports coverage through The Insiders. Thomas, a native of Smithfield, N.C., was a tight end on the football team at N.C. State University and played several years professionally. Maniscalco, also a renowned local radio personality, will continue his role as the pre- and post-game host of the Carolina Hurricanes games on 99.9 FM The Fan, the flagship radio station for the Triangle’s NHL franchise.
“This change is just another positive step towards further growth for our sports radio stations,” says Operations Manager Dave Shore. “There are great opportunities for each of these programs in new timeslots and we’re excited to see what we can accomplish with both shows moving forward.”
In August, CBC announced it would expand its radio sports coverage in the Triangle by acquiring 620 The Bull (WDNC), 1550 (WCLY) and the rights to the sports programming on 850 The Buzz (WRBZ). The addition of these stations complemented Capitol’s 99.9 FM The Fan which signed on with an all sports format in Fall, 2007. Sports Programming in the Triangle can now be found on the following CBC properties: 99.9 FM The Fan – ESPN Radio, 620 AM The Buzz and 1550 AM – ESPN Deportes. Long time sports radio market veteran Brian Maloney oversees the three station sports cluster as General Manager.

Where can I find mitsubishi 1997 montero sport radio code?
You need the serial # from off the back of the radio. If you have you're dealer do it, they will charge you, but if you have the radio pulled out already, they usually just give you the code for free. Just a note...the VIN# is not the number you need to get that code. Here's a little hint..Mitsu sometimes puts the code in odd places, like the truck. If you see 4 digits, try that..I got it to work once. If for some reason you try the wrong code 3 times, and it says OFF, then you must leave your car in the on postion, but not started for about an hour. Then you can enter the right code. Remember, you need the serial # from off the back of the radio!! Not the VIN
