Here are some more information for Subwoofers Sealed:

Since it is tough for small-sized loudspeakers to reproduce frequencies under 40 Hz, and really tough for under 100 dB, people often choose to use a loudspeaker just for this purpose. Hence the subwoofer, a kind of loudspeaker that reproduces bass frequencies ranging most generally from roughly 20 Hz to around 200 Hz. DO you need one? Depends upon how well you want to hear, if your sound is reproduced under 40 Hz.
Subwoofers' drivers, known as woofers, average between 8" and 15", and can run 34" even. And drivers begin at 4;" those under 8" generally don't reproduce lower frequencies with good quality.
Use high-powered amps with subwoofers and an electronic crossover and low-pass filter. There are two types of subwoofers; those with an amp in the subwoofer cabinet (active), and those without the amplifier (passive).
Home Theater
With regards to the use of subwoofers in home theater systems, they come mounted in a sealed enclosure. Some people like to focus attention of their systems around satellite speakers, hiding their subwoofer; hence it may be packaged within the system. Others build the subwoofer into the theater cabinet.
Why the separation? To keep them out of site, for one thing. Plus for sensitivity issues dealing with the areas' sound compatibility and mode. Some people prefer to place the subwoofer near the listener.
Bottom line is, if you want to be able to hear low frequencies, you need a subwoofer. If you don't care, don't' worry about it then.
When will this come into play? Lower frequencies are needed with older sound formats, like with vinyl records replaced with digital formats, like CDs, mainly with 5.1 formats Dolby Digital and DTS (where the ".1" channel is for the bass frequencies, for the subwoofer), common choice of mixed artists.

Check The Electric System Of Your Car Before You Purchase Car Subwoofers
Car subwoofers are generally those technologies which can produce a great bass in the car audios. The frequencies of these subwoofers are generally in the range of 100Hz or little below than that. However, car subwoofers are not present in all the audio systems that are available for the cars.
The sound that will be produced by your car subwoofers probably will not be produced by any loudspeakers you get in the car audios. The subwoofers of any car are generally around 8 inches and are placed in an enclosure. This enclosure is a kind of box in which your subwoofer would be mounted.
There are several types of car subwoofers that you can consider buying for your car. The subwoofer which is generally available for tube type cars generally has the woofer on one end and is sealed on the other. They can be made either of fiberglass or of wood.
When you want to install car subwoofers in your car, you would have to check the electrical system in your car. The electrical system of your car should be proper enough to allow the installation of your woofer. These electrical systems include the battery of the car, the alternator as well as the power wiring.
The car subwoofers generally require huge battery to run. That is why the car audios which have the facility to be connected with the woofer come with extra battery back up. This makes the woofer run even when the car is not on.
However, your car may not have the power to support the operation of the car subwoofers. In that case, you will require a multi-megawatt system or a tiny alternator. This may help your woofer of the car audios to run smoothly and properly.
Since the car subwoofers are quite large in size, they occupy space. You should necessarily consider the factor of this space while you buy subwoofer for the car audios. You can however, purchase a smaller one but you have to ensure that you supply more power to it.
However, in order to achieve greater bass, you need to increase the number of car subwoofers in your car. This is because greater the surface area of the cone greater will be the sound produced from the car audio. It is always a better idea to go for one larger car subwoofer than two.

would it be alright to have different size subwoofers??
would it be alright to have 1 15 2 12's 2 10's and 2 8's?
(they would all be in the same type of box which would be sealed)
could having different size subwoofers mess anything up or make my system sound bad?
It could possibly be alright if you were able to adjust it correctly. However this is not an ideal way to have subs. You usually only want one type and size of subs in your car.
I don't really see any advantage of having that many subs or that many different sizes. I would only recommend that you try this if you are looking for SPL any nothing more. Unless you have an expert setting this up then i see very little if any SQ coming out of this system.
