can i place a 2003 pontiac montana v6 engine into a 2002 pontiac sunfire?
sunfire is a coup 2 door 2.2l the montana is a 3.4 l
The 3.4l in the transport is based on the LG8 3.1 l v6. From 1991 to 1994 the sunbird had a 3.1 l v6 as an option. In 1996 the sunbird changed model but was still built on the J body platform as is the 2002. So I would say it fits. That being said, fitting is one thing.... making it work is another. Having just the engine is not enough. You will need the ecm the wiring harness. Numerous sensors...... how about the tranny? All that to get 185hp in a sunfire. How about picking up a Quad4 HO out of a 90 gtz with a the five speed it came with. That fits and has 180+ hp. Hope this helps
