03 Tacoma 4x4 check engine light still on?
Everything was fine till both my cats were stolen..Went to local muffler shop they gave me 2 new cats..4 months later 400 miles i get 0420 code toyota says my cats are not heating up and need new ones..I go back to muffler shop they give me 2 new much better cats this time..3weeks 70miles later i get 0420 code again..My front 02 sensor is reading 3.41 volts.. Back 02 sensor is 0.0021......... What is going on here? Am i really blowing up my cats every time after i drive anywhere from 70 - 400 miles? I heard people like me with same prob who used OEM toyota parts and still having same prob.. What do i do??? I've change my front o2 sensor 3 times..Using bosh every time and its still showing high voltage..
Please can anybody help me?
The factory cats on your 4.0litre V-6 are very close to the engine just downstream of the exhaust manifold. With this kind of a set up its best to replace them with factory original parts. Other than your new cats being of poor quality or installed improperly (too far from the engine), I cant see there being any other problem.
