Chocolate mmmm I love It! don't you? Sticky toffee pudding, yum yum, tuna pasta bake wow! We all have cravings for naughty but nice foods, if you have a sweet sticky tooth or a savory palate how would you like to control your unwanted cravings, or better still eliminate them completely!
I am going to show you a simple technique that will enable you to control those urges and be in control of that craving forever. It is based upon a technique called TFT (thought field therapy) discovered by Dr Roger Callahan in the USA.
It involves tapping on various acupressure points on the body as you think of the particular craving you want to control or eliminate. You may feel a bit of an idiot doing it but trust me it has been used thousands of times and works!
1/Start by thinking of the particular craving you want to eliminate (for example chocolate) and give it a rating between one and ten as to its intensity.
One being the least intense ten being the most intense.
2/With the first two fingers of your dominant hand tap above your eye, on your eyebrow area as you think about the craving.
3/Next tap under your eye.
4/Then tap under your collarbone.
5/Keep thinking about the craving as you tap under your armpit.
6/Place your other hand in front of you and tap on the back between the knuckles of your ring finger and little finger.
7/Open your eyes and close them.
8/Keep tapping as you rotate your eyes down to the right and then the left.
9/As you continue to tap rotate your eyes 360 degrees in an anticlockwise circle then clockwise.
10/Still thinking of the craving hum the first few lines of a simple tune such as humpty dumpty or happy birthday.
11/Count out loud from 1 to 5.
12/Once again hum the first few lines of the tune.
13/Repeat the beginning of the sequence tapping above the eye as before as you continue to think about your craving.
14/Next tap under your collarbone.
15/Now tap under the armpit.
Stop and review your progress, think about your craving and again rate its intensity on a scale of one to ten. It has almost certainly reduced in intensity and in some cases gone completely. If it is still there do the sequence again until you reduce the intensity, it may take three or four attempts to completely reduce it to zero. Most people report a significant reduction of their craving on the first or second attempt.
