Is the original Hershey Chocolate Factory still in use today? And if so, is it still used to make chocolate?
I'm doing a report on Milton Hershey for school, and I'm trying to find some information on what happens at the original Hershey Chocolate Factory today. Is it still used as a chocolate creamery as it was when it first opened? Or has it changed? Please name a source if you answer. Thanks!
Yes, its still in use, and yes, they still make chocolate there.
To clear up what everyone else is saying, they DID close down some factories, but not the main Hershey PA factory. The factories they closed were Smith Falls, Ontario Canada and Oakdale, CA. Not only is the Hershey factory still in use, but the whole town of Hershey, PA is built around it, and its referred to as Hershey's Chocolate World.
