Dell to launch 5-inch touchscreen - rumoured to be named "Streak"
Dell's long anticipated android handset, "Streak" or the "Mini5" as it's rumoured to be named, will be with us as early as June, recent reports have speculated.
Available in a wide range of colours including a pretty rainbow coloured device, right through to a city-sleek metallic grey option, the 5 inch touchscreen will also come with a five megapixel camera and a VGA camera for video chatting. The handset will also run Flash.
Facebook and Twitter addicts will be delighted to know that it's also got the apps pre-loaded and ready to go.
The WVGA 800x480 touchscreen e-book reader will only be offered through mobile operator Telephonica O2 and the development of larger 7 inch and 10 inch models are thought to be in progress.
Moving on to audio: the Mini 5 has a mono speaker on the back that sounds loud and surprisingly clear, but naturally, the bundled earphones sound even better -- we'd scale it to somewhere between the levels of the iPod buds and Apple's in-ear headphones. Fans of stereo Bluetooth headphones will be pleased to know that our Mini 5 supports A2DP and AVRCP, which are particularly useful for devices of such size.
Dell's CEO, Michael Dell demonstrated the new e-book reader at Citrix Systems' Synergy conference in San Francisco which ran a Citrix Receiver, a client that allows devices to run Windows desktop applications.

Anyone know of a wireless VGA multi-touch display/input panel?
I am aware of a ViewSonic product, but it is more of a lite version of a tablet computer. Instead, think of a 10.1 inch version of the iPhone multi-touch touchscreen, except without any guts other than a wireless VGA connection to your PC/Mac. All the computing power of your PC/Mac in your hands, without any of the weight, heat, wires, mouse, keyboard, etc. or expensive components of a computer. Anything like that exist yet?
No such thing exists.
The only way to transmit a VGA signal wirelessly would be with a set of wireless VGA extenders, and those things aren't cheap. http://www.engadget.com/2006/01/19/the-wireless-vga-extender-eliminates-some-other-wires-too/
And I haven't seen any small monitors with a VGA wireless extender built-in, let alone touchscreens.
LG kicks off T-Mobile relationship with Sentio, dLite, and GS170
Don't look for any crazy Android hardware here, but these three dumbphones are more notable than you might think: they mark the first time LG has hooked up with T-Mobile USA, believe it or not. The Sentio (pictured left) is the most interesting of the trio, featuring a 3-inch touchscreen, 3 megapixel cam with video capture, and support for visual voicemail. The dLite flip (middle) offers a nifty ...
