Volvo earlier announced that its new flagship 'Executive' model, so far the most luxuriously equipped product, has been added to the all-new Volvo S80 saloon range. The car is priced at £38,415 and the deliveries have started since last week of January.
The Volvo S80 'Executive' model enters the auto scene with dynamic design language, improved ergonomics, powerful performance and world-class safety. The car is delivered with the aim of attracting the most demanding car aficionados. "The all new S80 is entering an immensely tough sector where the competition is razor-sharp and the customers have very high expectations. We are now challenging the best in the segment with a very special car. It radiates what we call 'Scandinavian Luxury', clean and elegant lines and intelligent functionality where every single detail has been designed with the user's well-being in mind," said Fredrik Arp, President and CEO of Volvo Cars.
"We are convinced that the all new Volvo S80 will be a very strong contender in its class and win over many new customers considering the other popular premium brand rivals. We expect to sell 50,000 new S80s a year around the world, of which 70 per cent will be new Volvo customers," said Frederik Arp, Volvo Cars CEO.
At the launch of the first generation Volvo S80, the automaker flaunted bold design that mirrors the automaker's new design direction. However, the Swedish automaker did not entertain a halt. Its pool of designers cleverly entertained a sweeping auto styling innovation that evokes youthful and dynamic design language plus Volvo safety technology.
"The all new S80 is about evolutionary design," said Steve Mattin, Volvo Cars design director. "All the shapes and materials it uses represent a continuous development of the Volvo design language. We have given the all new S80 a more youthful and dynamic stance, and created an even more inviting atmosphere by using refined materials and colors that blend smoothly with smart, user-friendly technology."
The Volvo S80 'Executive' offers distinctive Scandinavian design, a superb ride and handling, innovative technology and an excellent level of comfort. It is the latest proof that the automaker can evolve dramatically. Gone were the days of the aging Volvo 850 parts. It is high time to experience Volvo metamorphosis.
The Volvo S80 'Executive' also features bespoke Executive badging, chrome accents, unique 18in alloy wheels, a refrigerator in the rear, walnut wood inlays, a Dynaudio Premium Sound, Personal Car Communicator with Keyless Drive, RTI and heated front and rear seats. The Executive's extensive options specification include an integrated dual band or a Bluetooth telephone and Volvo's latest generation Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) with DVD player located in the front centre armrest, and two seven inch screens in the rear of the front head restraints and two cordless headphones. The Volvo S80 Executive also offers 3 powerful engines - the D5, 3.2 (front wheel drive or All Wheel Drive) and V8 AWD, all with six-speed Geartronic transmission as standard.

Volvo Xc70 Unveiled at Geneva
Volvo Cars has finally unveiled its scorching new soft-roader at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. The information and images of the new vehicle was released a day before its intended launching.
The new Volvo XC70 is made bolder, sporty and more capable for adventure. The pool of Volvo engineers significantly improved the levels of road capability and refinement to pave way for a more endearing vehicle in the XC70. The vehicle offers unmatched levels of athleticism, versatility and safety and these features are distinctively Volvos.
The all-new Volvo XC70 is powered by a naturally aspirated 3.2-litre straight six-cylinder petrol engine and a 2.4-litre five-cylinder D5 turbo diesel engine. The turbo diesel delivers a full technical capabilities boosted by four valves per cylinder technology, features double overhead camshafts, advanced multi-point injection system, maintenance-free particle filter, electronically controlled turbocharger, and enhanced engine management system.
The new Volvo XC70 uses a number of Volvo C70 parts to deliver flexible and agile driving experience. The vehicle’s underpinning employs advanced new chassis architecture to combine exceptional driver control, comfy ride and secured handling. “With an active chassis, the car’s driving properties improve in all situations,” said Volvo Cars XC70 Project Director, Tomas Ahlborg. “It becomes both safer and more entertaining to drive.”
The vehicle is fitted with the company’s dynamic stability and traction control (DSTC) and this improves its cornering stability. At the same time, this diminishes the risk of skidding through the use of dynamic sensors to limit torque and apply calculated braking.
To enhance the off-road capability of the vehicle, Volvo integrates the speed-dependent power steering option. It is also fitted with a clever power parking brake (PPB) that automatically disengages when the accelerator is pressed so the vehicle pulls away.
The all-new XC70 also features dynamic styling emphasized by catchy sporty design, raked windscreen, tailgate angles, Volvo C30-inspired taillights and blacked-out side pillars mated to the usual off-road body kit. The charisma is boosted by refined lines and contours to give it a more elegant look.
“The dark-coloured plastic panels at the bottom are less obvious than on the current model. But as with exclusive outdoor clothing, the protection is placed exactly where it needs to be to withstand the rough stuff,” said Volvo Cars Design Director, Steve Mattin.
The Volvo XC70 is equipped with a first class digital signal processing (DSP) audio system with Dolby Pro Logic II Surround. The latter has adjustable sound pattern and Premium Sound option that offers loudspeakers from Dynaudio. The vehicle also flaunts the integrated RSE system for rear passengers, the latest generation of RTI navigation system, MP3 player compatibility and optional subwoofers.
Prices of the all new Volvo XC70 will be announced early this June. The vehicle is scheduled to arrive at showrooms this September and the first customer deliveries are set on October. The current XC70 version remains on sale until the autumn.

I have replaced the radio on my 2006 Volvo S80 D5 LUX for a dvd player but my RTI sat nav wont work any ideas?
The sat nav unit wont now work it doesnt even come up out of the dash board
go to a good car radio shop and see if thares a interface you can use, i had the same problem with my volvo also a s80
