The electronic dog training collar is a modern day invention that is aimed at modifying your dog's behavior. It is commonly referred to as a 'mild coercion' technique used predominantly to renounce a dog from doing what it is not supposed to do. This would actually be tantamount to taking a U- turn from our main objective, which is to promote good behavior within the dog.
Before starting with this technique, take your dog into confidence. Be patient and allow him to take his own time. What you desire is that the collar acts a stimulus to solicit the required action immediately after the verbal command has been repeated. Ensure that during the training phase your dog doesn't yap or become in pain. Of course, you will also want to determine the threshold level of your dog without going overboard.
This training tool, if used correctly and in moderation, can make your dog a role model for others Used incorrectly it can easily result in more harm than good. This is why I can not personally recommend this method of dog training. Few owners take the time to really understand how to use it properly. Electronic Cigarettes: The Best Thing That Never Happened
E-Cigarettes have slow gained popularity across North America with people looking for new and innovative ways to "Go Green". With the appeal of not containing the more than 4,000 chemicals found in a traditional tobacco cigarette, people are turning to these electronic products in flocks. However not everyone is as excited about these little life savers that hangout in high places with pals that have boat loads of money at their disposal.
The FDA is hell bent on finding ways to prevent this product from making into the hands of Red Blooded, Tax Paying Americans. With malicious attacks against the Electronic Cigarette Community stating that e-cigarettes are just a gateway for teens to start smoking tobacco cigarettes with statements like"e-cigarettes can increase nicotine addiction among young people and may lead kids to try other tobacco products, including conventional cigarettes, which are known to cause disease and lead to premature death"
This is a clear tactic by the FDA to help fuel their agenda to stop e-cigarettes in their track. But they don't stop with there, the have also stopped the shipment of these product from over seas into the US. Even after they have been told to cease and assist all activities regarding electronic cigarettes in a judgement passed down by Supreme Court Justice Richard J. Leon and the case of Smoking Everywhere vs FDA.
This has yet to stop the FDA from sticking their meddling fingers into the electronic cigarette industry by continuing to halt shipments entering US boarders.
I speculate that the FDAs intentions are less about looking out for the welfare of the US Citizens and more about looking out for the buddies in Big Pharmaceutical companies... There are multiple members of the Board of Directors for the FDA that have in the past had direct ties to Pharmaceutical companies and have been placed in a position to indirectly or have close friends lose large sums of money if people stop smoking tobacco cigarettes in mass quantities. Seeing as how Tobacco smoking related deaths is the number one preventable death in America today and if people aren't struggling to live and suffering a long the way, they won't be buying outrageous amounts of very expensive drugs and in return cutting deeply into the profits of Big Pharmaceutical Companies across America.
If the FDA has their way, electronic cigarettes will be band from the US market place by end of year 2010, and twenty years from now we will talk about what little we remember of e-cigarettes "Hey remember that product that might have saved my father from the fate of lung cancer, what ever happened to that?"
What can I do? You don't have to take my word for it that e-cigarettes are a MUCH better alternative to traditional tobacco cigarettes. What I urge you to do is go out there and figure it out for yourself, talk to people that you see "vaping" on an e-cigarette and see what they think of the product. Get involved in forums and see what these tiny electronic devices have done for nearly one million people in the US alone. Ask your doctor what they think and find out for yourself if this is really the silent killer that the FDA makes it out to be!
