Here are some more information for Western Electric:

From all of the lawsuits of inventors each trying to prove that they were original inventor, one could only conclude that the history of the first and original telephone invention is tainted.
Several inventors created prototypes similar to our now outdated telephones at around the same time. Historians and technology experts even still do not agree on the actual date and inventor.
The Enciclopedia Itliana di Scienze credits Antonio Meucci with the invention of the phone. However he didn't follow up on the paperwork to make it official. In 2002 the US House of Representatives passed a bill recognizing Meucci's accomplishment and noted that if had been able to pay the $10 fee to maintain the paperwork, that no patient would have been issued later.
Most agree that it probably was in Germany, in 1860, when Phillip Rees produced a working prototype telephone system transmitting proximately 100 m. It was then produced on a small scale by a local company with only mediocre and inconsistent results. At that time is was seen as a toy, money was probably short and foresight nonexistent to the possibilities.
In America at that time the race was on between Elisha Gray and Alexander Graham Bell to engineer the first telephone. Elisha Gray, later the cofounder of Braybar Electric, and later to become Western Electric. In a book by Burton H. Baker, The Gray Matter: The Forgotten Story of the Telephone, he writes a detailed revelation of how Gray's invention was copied by Alexander Graham Bell. Gray is considered by many to be the true inventor of the variable resistance telephone.
History books credit Alexander Graham Bell with the filing of the first patient on February 14, 1876 for the first telephone system. On March 7, 1876 his patient was granted and three days later he proved it by speaking "Mr Watson - come here - I want to see you", through the wires.
As we mentioned before, at that time in history such an invention was seen as a toy and probably seem as frivolous. I'm sure they never envisioned that in only 100 years people would have them in their cars. In reality cars were only a vision at that time also. They also could not have envisioned that people would even carry them in their pockets, without wires. Or play games of them, or type each other messages on them
Tinted or not, history at least documents a time line of progress. The only sure accreditation is the patient and the proving of the telephone invention. We are blessed today to have the improved utilization of this wonderful invention. We all wonder where communication will be in the next 100 years.

Could someone reccomend me some Western swing :O?
Hello! ![]()
I'm looking for some western swing songs that are kind of uhhh intense? I guess I should say. Like in a cowboy movie when there's a shoot out or something epic happens haha.
Mainly i'm looking for a song that sounds like most of the music in the Anime series Trigun
or the guitar in speghetti western swing.
I think it uses the standard acoustic and electric guitaring. :O
Anyways ^^ I appreciate the help
Thank you
Trigun Song i was talking about. anything that remotely resembles this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WasrfaH7gkY
Cool song, but I wouldn't call it "western swing", which is the style of music played by Bob Wills & The Texas Playboys and Asleep At The Wheel.
You might like the song Ghost Riders In The Sky.
Sorry, email wouldn't go through for some reason. The guitar style on Ghost Riders would be called Flamenco, which is considered a spanish or gypsy style played on a classical guitar. The Trigun song has a slide guitar.
