Here are some more information for Working Condition:

Accidental exposure can occur even when there are good safety precautions and good emergency controls in place. So, it is essential to provide safety equipment like goggles, boots, gloves, shields, and other protective equipment. Safety showers and eyewash stations must be provided to minimize the exposure to hazardous chemicals.
The first 10 seconds are critical after a person has been exposed to any hazardous substance. Any delay, even of a few seconds can cause serious injury. Safety showers can also be used to wash off corrosive contaminants from clothing and to extinguish fire from clothing. The distance of a safety-shower should not be more then 50 to 100 feet from the work area. In case highly corrosive chemicals are being used then the distance from work place to the safety equipment should not exceed 20 feet. There should not be any obstacles on the way from the work area to the safety item.
The safety shower should have a diameter of at least 20 inches so that the entire body is sprayed with the safety item and not just the head. The safety shower should be designed such that it gets turned on in a second. The handle, lever, or knob to turn on the safety shower should be unobstructed. The flushing fluid in the safety shower should either be drinkable water, preserved water, or any medically acceptable solution.
There should be enough supply of water in the safety shower to allow the user to shower for at least 20 minutes. The water temperature in a safety shower should be tepid and the water pressure should be low. High temperature and high pressure showers can be damaging. For mild irritants a minimum 5 minutes shower is recommended. For moderate to severe irritants and non penetrating corrosives the shower time should be increased to 20 minutes. For penetrating corrosives the time should be 60 minutes.
A fresh pair of coveralls and foot wear should be available in the safety shower area. The safety showers should be checked periodically to ascertain they are in working condition. An automatic alarm should be triggered when a safety shower is in use and standby medical attention should be activated.
Laboratories, high dust areas, hazardous substance filling and dispensing areas, and where spraying is done should have safety showers installed. The safety showers should be installed close to an exit, and on the same floor where the work is being done.
The number of such safety products required to be installed in a work place will depend on two factors. First, how high are the chances of workers getting into an accident? Secondly, how many workers work in that area? The local safety board and their guidelines should be followed in making this decision. The safety equipment to be installed and what flushing fluid to use may be regulated by the local safety board.
In any hazardous working environment, safety showers are the second line of defense. Therefore, they should be treated like any other safety equipment which means that their maintenance, periodic checks, and refilling etc must be regulated. Safety showers can make the difference between a minor injury and a casualty.

6000 Die Each Day Worldwide as a Result of Accidents at Work
With the world day for health and safety at work commemorated a few days ago on the 28th of April and World labour day celebrated on the 1st May, working conditions across the world have been under scrutiny in the past week or so.
The rights that workers in industrialised countries fought for at the turn of the 19th Century still shape health and safety law and working conditions today, which is why international labour day is celebrated.
The world day for health and safety at work is a more recent celebration, added to the calendar as part of a campaign to promote safe, healthy and decent work. It was marked this year when the International Labour Office put pressure on those who run business to place more emphasis on safety at work.
They called for more comprehensive risk management which would reduce human and economic burdens of accidents at work and health problems caused by poor working conditions.
A number of activities around the world marked the day. Events not only promoted safer working conditions but also remembered the many workers who have died as a result of their job.
Every year more than 2 million people die worldwide as a result of their working conditions. Juan Somavia, Director General at the International Labour Office says that workers and employers alike must remember that “Injury and disease are not 'all in a day's work”
He urges that we as a whole “promote a new 'safety culture' in the workplace - wherever work is done - backed by appropriate national policies and programmes to make workplaces safer and healthier for us all.”
As well as the millions of people that die each year as a result of their jobs, many more suffer injuries while working. The International Labour Office estimate that there are a massive 270 million work related accidents which do not result in death each year worldwide.
Each one of these accidents results in at least three days absence from work. This equates to a massive loss of labour for employers and loss of earnings to those victims of workplace accidents.
The International Labour Office believe that although health and safety is becoming more of a priority to employers and national bodies alike, work related deaths are on the rise.
In addition to this, more than 160 million new cases of diseases caused by the working environment are reported each year.
Despite these statistics, Juan Somavia remains upbeat about the future of workplace health and safety standards: “We know that by assessing risks and hazards, combating them at source and promoting a culture of prevention we can significantly reduce workplace illness and injuries,” said Juan Somavia.”

Working out has become a way of life for a lot of New Mexicans. Whether it be to stay in shape for a particular job, fight obesity or just trying to attain that perfect physique... more and more people are flocking to the gyms. One of the biggest debates I get into over the course of the year, is whether or not alcohol has an effect on fat burning and or building muscle.
